The best-selling game of all time, Super Mario Bros. 3, makes its portable debut with all-new features! Bowser and his troublemaking kids have forced the land into complete chaos by transforming all the local kings into animals, and it's up to Mario and Luigi to stop them. In what many consider to be the best Mario game ever, players have to run, jump and stomp on enemies through eight enormous worlds, as they use new and classic power-ups. Dash past danger, swim treacherous seas and even take to the air, speeding toward a collision course with Bowser.
  • Jump bottomless pits, stomp familiar foes and use awesome power-ups like the Warp Whistle and the Frog and Tanooki Suit, as you take the flight to Bowser and his kids.
  • Open up new levels and game features when you scan special cards through the e-Reader attachment.
  • Complete increasingly difficult levels, beating one of Bowser's kids at the end of each level on your way to the final battle with Bowser.
  • Discover multiplayer Mario madness when you link up with any of the other three Super Mario Advance games for frantic fun in the original Mario Bros. game.

Originally released in Europe on the Nintendo Entertainment System way back in 1991 this GameBoy remake serves as a reminder of why it is still heralded as the greatest platformer in video game history.

Many have tried to imitate the Mario Bros 3 but Nintendo's attention to gameplay and innovation in level design is yet to be matched. Following the template laid down in the original the game provides eight different worlds, each containing several levels, which provide a huge amount of challenge and entertainment. Every world introduced new ideas, enemies and power-ups ensuring the game never became repetitive or dull. Unlike many early 3d games the graphics also still stand up to today's standards with some clever visual effects throughout.

In conclusion Super Mario Bros 3 is still the pinnacle of 2d gaming and remains amongst the greatest games of all time.

The favourite game from my childhood is available on DS and Gameboy Advance.

So, why is this game so great.

It's the racoon suit and the ability to fly after a run up... Its colours, varied levels and worlds. Huge levels and up and down drain pipes.

If your new to Mario, then this is a great place to start. As an old 2D scrolling platform game, you might worry it suffers from the too retro syndrome, like playing Super Mario 1 or 2 again 20 years on.

It does not suffer that. Is fun addictive and not overly challenging. Collect power ups, shoot fire balls, fly, be invincible, kick turtle shells and Kick Bowser in the castles.

A great Game and must play
