I thought this one was better than the first. It has more action than cut scenes, which is still there but more well done than the crappy ones in the first which I thought was cheesy. The puzzles are better and so is the story imo. Great game that's better than the first, the first is still great don't get me wrong. I just find number 2 better but it's no number 4 which is one of the best games ever made.
Resident Evil 2 Best on GC!

Resident Evil 2 will surely bring back memories to you! it was Ten years ago since the original came out on the Playstation, and this time it gets an upgrade! the Gamecube version is alot better, better framerate on FMV sequences, and better controles. The features are also a great addition to the game. All you Resi' fans, if you havnt got this on Gamecube and want to re-live all the gore in its glory, get it! Without doubt the best Resident Evil... To date!
A legendary game, there ain't no denyin'. buuuut....

... If you're buying this as a Wii owner, you might want to hang back because there are rumours that a Wii remake is on the way in the future.
Resident Evil 2 Returns in all its former glory!

I remeber reading this title as i turned the back of this game around after i had bought this game and iv never forgotten it,Resident Evil 2 Kicks off Where Resident Evil left off.The viral outbreak from the mansion in the first game infects the nearby community and the town becomes infected with the virus, you play as rookie cop Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield who is searching for her brother Chris who is one of the protaganists of resident evil remake,The game has 4 scenarios and plenty to find the second ,third and fourth time round so the replay value is great, the only issue i have with this game is the graphics as the gamecube has a lot more potential than this, however with Umbrella Chronicles soon to be released all my problems should be solved!i highly recommend this game especially to Resident Evil fans,Enter The Survival Horror!
CLASSIC

one the best games to play
the resident evil series never fails to impress
liked RE4 well this game features Leon from RE4 as one of two main characters. the game in its self is amazing even though this GC version dose have the same graphics as the Playstation version but game play is still out standing
Does this lazy port stand the test of time? Luckily, yes.

Top 10 Games Reviewer
Those of you who weren't lucky enough to experience this in the ps1's prime who now own a cube will probably feel like splashing out on this to catch up with the series. I did own it on ps1, but since my copy broke, got it for the cube. At first, I felt a little cheated and dissapointed, but let's hit the good issues first (Of which there are many!)
The story plays out the escape of two main characters trying to escape from raccoon city after a viral outbreak similar to that of the mansion in re1. Each character can take a completely different route depending on which side of the car they were sitting in when it crashed, leaving a whopping four routes through this game. Add on the ranking system, and an extra scenario to play through as a special mercenary with limited ammo and health (for the experts out there). The weapons and enemies in the game are brilliant, the ammo and health is perfectly balanced, as there's never too much to make the game easy or not enough to make it stupidly impossible! The enemies are terrifyingly well done, with scarier zombies, lickers, mutant head ripping off plants, dogs, god too many to name. The locations are great too, taking you from a brilliantly designed archaic police station through to the inevitable (yet fun!) umbrella lab. Overall, it is a brilliant game, terrifyingly scary, full of suspense and difficulty, and well balanced. Now onto the bad points...
The game is a DIRECT port from the ps1. That means you'll get rubbish polygonal graphics, square characters, sub-standard animation, squinty eyed characters that don't move their mouths when talking, and more. You'll also get all the jagged edges in their glory, and what's more, NO 180 quick turn, which can make some boss batles impossibly hard. The addition of an auto aim feature makes things slightly easier, but those who played the remake may feel extremely let-down and cheated by Capcom.
As amazing games go, you could do a lot worse than to splash 15 quid on this gaming masterpiece...yes it does stand the test of time, and in my opinion the best in the series. Unfortunately (and with perfect reason in my opinion!) those of you who see the gamecube seal on the front and expect a visual eye-candy rollercoaster ride of graphical splendour from zero or the remake will be sorely dissapointed, and find it difficult to adjust to the clunky mechanics. If you are willing to look past these and forget that it's a gamecube game (perhaps think of it as a virtual console game for all you wii-owners out there), will have a great time with what I believe to be one of the most brilliantly-designed games of all time.
Good, but wish it was updated

This a Direct port from the PS1. Nothing has been added. Still a great game. Always found it to be a bit short though.
A GREAT FOLLOW ON FROM THE ORIGINAL.
A simple port.

Nothing has been added to this from the original on the ps1.
It is still a fantastic game, hence worthy of 3 stars, even now, however do not expect a remake like resi 0 or 1,thia is a simple port over...........still worthy of buying for fans of the series who have not yet sampled the delights of this title.
