Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes thrusts players into a stunning 3D world of espionage and stealth action. Playing as legendary videogame hero, Solid Snake, gamers will infiltrate an Alaskan nuclear missile disposal facility occupied by a terrorist organization called FOXHOUND. While the mission is simple - infiltrate the base, seize the terrorist cell and neutralize the weapons of mass destruction, a.k.a., Metal Gear, it is the gameplay that is unforgettable. Only in this game will players truly feel like they are in the heart of the action, as if every step taken leads them closer to danger. Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes is an exercise in stealth maneuvers, covert operations and special ops.

Delivering the essence of Metal Gear Solid and Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty into one unique experience, Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes adds new elements to the gameplay that were not available with the original release of Metal Gear Solid, such as aiming and shooting in first person view, hanging from ledges and opening lockers. Additionally, Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes will feature all-new CG sequences led by Japanese film director and writer Ryuhei Kitamura as well as new character voiceovers, including the voice of the renowned screenwriter (X-Men) and actor, David Hayter as Solid Snake.

 An Awesome Re-make

This game is basically a remake of the original MGS, but with many added features. Most of these have been incorporated from MGS 2: Sons of Liberty, such as first person shooting, and physical movements that snake can perform. They've also added some weapons from MGS 2, such as the M9 tranquiliser.

What I really found enjoyable was the fact that they changed it so that the guards bodies no longer disappear, you actually have to move them and hide them. This adds to the realism and makes the game more enjoyable in my opinion.

Also, the graphics have been upped, and the enemy AI has been increased, so you will enjoy more realistic gameplay. I highly recommend this to anyone who enjoyed the original MGS, as Konami have done an excellent job on remaking it.

The only thing I really dislike is the change in music, I absolutley loved the original soundtrack. It has been edited here, it isn't bad, but I much preferred the original :)

 Brilliant Game

This was a fantastic game in its own right when it was released for the ps1. Then the great new additions that were brought in for the sequel have now been incorporated for the original such as the first person viewpoint when aiming. The actual story is typical Metal Gear (Crazy) but has great graphics, memorable boss battles (Psycho Mantis anyone?) and is still an outstanding game. This is for those who were disappointed with playing as Raiden in MGS2. In a word Brilliant!

 Modern day classic

To clarify how good this game is I purchased the PS1 version of MGS on release day, then went onto purchase its PC port which I believe Microsoft published - nothing special about that you say?

Whats amazing though is that having now already purchased and completed the game across two different systems the Gamecube version still manages to feel fresh and relevant even alongside all the new fangled next gen consoles.

Not once is it a chore to see any of the old characters or cutscenes, perhaps its just me but it feels like theres a little more interactivity and the extra moves from Metal Gear Solid 2 are all there i.e. hold ups/dog tags, room clearance, hiding bodies in cupboards.

I also don't recollect the cutscenes being anywhere near as brutal and graphic as they are in the Gamecube version - the scenes with the Ninja and Metal Gear are jawdropping yet amongst all of the violence the developers retain the humourous little touches like what happens if you stand under Vulcan Raven's birds for any amout of time and the small cameos from Nintendo characters as bobblehead dolls on some of the office desks.

Overall this remake takes what was already a classic, improves the graphics, adds a few modern touches without spoiling the feel of the game and the end result is the definitive version of Metal Gear Solid and arguably the best game in the MGS series.

If you played the first metal gear solid and found it enjoyable then this is a must get game for you.

The Graphics are the biggest thing that made me enjoy this game as much as i did when i first played it on the Playstation. The first person mode helps out a lot aswell. The good thing about this game is that they havent missed anything out from the Playstation version, if anything they added extra gameplay in!

So overall if youve played the original game on the ps1 then you must get this game. If you havent played the ps1 version then you may find the game a bit akward but still and good game for any Gamecube Collection!

MGS has been the best game for years now and im sure wil be for a long time still, and this rare version of the game on the gamecube is well worth the money i ordered mine for just under £50 but i know in a couple of years it iwll be worth a lot more, but thats not why i bought it, i got it because its simply the best game franchise and this version of the game was the only one that i was missing...5*
