You want to jump on a bike and just ride to maximum speed? You can! You want to check every single setting to improve your last lap? You can! And you don't need to worry about wearing a suit...

Based on the official licence owned by Infront Motor Sports, SBK 09: Superbike World Championship offers the ultimate experience of the championship. Tracks, teams, riders, it's all there unaltered to make the player feel the adrenaline rush of real motorbike competition.

Every feature of the game has been dramatically improved from the previous year. New 3D environments, new teams, complete track overhaul, new gameplay structure, new game modes, revamped user interface. The pits have been redesigned to be as close to reality as a picture could be. The performance of the motorbikes is based on exact data from their real counterparts and the player can fine-tune every single setting a real race engineer can. Not to mention the podium, which is there, waiting for the winner.

For the first time ever in a motorbike racing game, SBK 09 will feature visible damage on fairings and rider leathers!

SBK 09 has a huge number of customisable realism settings making it perfect for beginners as much as for simulation enthusiasts. It's not just a game. It's a complete riding experience.
  • Five single-player modes: Quick race, Training, Race Weekend, Championship and Challenges
  • Three online multiplayer modes: Quick Race, Championship and Team Championship
  • New 3D realistic environments
  • Motorbike fairings and rider suits damage
  • Terrain deformation
  • Overprints from the TV broadcast
  • Tracks overhauled from real CAD data

 Not so Super Bike

Bikes look ok and handle well emough, but backgrounds and clouds look like a painted water colour everything is flat and by todays standards dull. I know race tracks are not interesting by nature but the cheapest games these days have gone beyond cardboard stiff flags!
You have to be a rider out of the game and a team no making your own, this was expected but still limiting would have been an added interest if you could be yourself. Worse still you have to remember who you were to see who got the lap record.
The real problems is the tracks, they are comicaly narrow so rather than trying to find the fastest line thorugh a corner you end up just trying to stay on the tarmac. Not so bad if you are out in front but awful if you have to overtake, the scale is just horribly wrong.
On reliability my game crashes if I try to alter the suspension, and only this! everything else seems to work fine but that one feature might as well not be in the game unless I want a quick exit to desctop (and I prbably do).
Avoid this game I dont know many good bike games but this is not one either, you wont find a forum on the official website to get any user feedback, always a bad sign as it keeps the complaints away. The support on the website does not work either (commming soon - oh yeah!).
As a last swipe at the game if your English you live in Europe! England it seems does not exsist. Italy, Portugal, Spain, Holland ect all have a track fine but donington is in the game and comes under Europe.
You have been warned!

Graphics on this game are excellent, runs perfectly maxed out on Windows 7, Geforce GTX 275, 6GB ram, Phenom Quad Core. The game works well with the xbox 360 controller and is quite realistic, you cant just hold down the accelerator all the way round.
The only thing id say about this game that lets it down is the sound. Bike sounds are very quiet when your on your own and all you hear during a race is a looped drowning background motorbike noise and nothing from your bike or the bikes next to you.

Id reccommend this title if your a bike fan, for the price it is a bargain.
