As an avid fan of adventure games I was pleased to see this home-grown game finally reach the shelves on this side of the Atlantic. I found the narrative thoroughly engaging. I loved every minute spent exploring the beautifully realised landscapes. The puzzles, many and varied, made sense in their environments. And the icing on the cake had to be getting to use the wonderful gadgets for ghost-hunting. The atmosphere kept me on the edge of my seat throughout this truly epic game. Definitely a keeper, and I would recommend this to any adventure gamer. At this price it's a steal!

 Surprisingly Good

As far as adventure/puzzle games go, I would rate this up there with the best of them.

Naturally as with all games, there are some bad points such as the voice acting, which at times sounds like it's recorded straight out of a Sat Nav. The character models could also have used some work. (although not really an issue, after all this never stopped monkey island being a legendary game.) However these issues do nothing to damper the story or idea of this game at all. The story is very solid as is the ghost hunting elements which are the most realistic of any game developed. The game also does a great job at creating the perfect atmosphere, without going over the top.

All in all, I highly recommend this game to fans of adventure games and fans of the supernatural and at the price you cant go wrong. You won't be disappointed.

Lost Crown - a wonderful, creepy and fun adventure

The Lost Crown is one of the very best adventure games that I have played.

As the character (Nigel Danvers), you explore locations throughout the game in a search for the lost Saxon crown. During your journey, you encounter many interesting and strange characters, lots of wonderful locations, creepy voices, ghosts, unexplained phenomenon and lots more.

I spent many days playing this game and once I started, I just couldn't stop. The game evokes a range of emotions as you play. In much of the game you feel that 'someone' is watching you and there are certainly plenty of moments during the game where you will simply jump out of your chair!

The game has a wonderful creepy ambience (especially when you are playing at 4am with a 5.1 surround sound system or with headphones on).

The characters are superb; you feel that you really get to know all of them as you progress throughout the game. You also obtain assistance from characters, essential at later points in the game whilst you are being chased by ghostly figures!

As the game character, you get to use many fantastic ghost hunting gadgets to find and communicate with lots of ghosts!

The graphics are superb: Wonderfully rendered, the game also feels alive with lots of 3D artwork and actors (birds, cats, wildlife, people, reeds swaying, rolling fog etc).

The sound are spectacular: The effects (footsteps, 'over here' voices, ghostly sounds etc), eerie soundtrack and dialogs are amazing.

If you love adventuring, solving mysteries, exploring beautiful locations and enjoy being frightened with lots of spooky encounters - you must play this game, hours of fun adventuring!

Can you find the lost Saxon crown?

ive decided to take a star off for one very good reason!
the voice acting for the main character is terrible i.e like reading from a cue card) ive only come across worse acting in belief and betrayals main protagonist.
apart from that it was a real pleasure to play, with nice puzzles that wont make u pull your hair out over,
fine art backdrops
a nice original story and original concept of ghost hunting using TAPS tv series style tools which is awasom. so yes buy the game : ) im jemima im jemima

The Lost Crown, one of my best game purchases, ever!

I wasn't sure what to expect from this game, The Lost Crown, but it turns out to be one of my best game purchases, ever! It's certainly unusual, with a very distinctive presentation, and features a great (ghost) story, set on the foggy coast of England. I've never played many detective style games before, so delighted in poking through peoples homes, secret places and long forgotten archaeological sites, on my mission to find The Lost Crown. It's a spooky game, well worth the money, and is sure to surprise and delight those who like to think a little during their playtime, and get to the bottom of the greatest mysteries.
