War has come to Calradia. In a land torn by constant danger, raids and skirmishes, you will raise and lead your own war band and command dozens of hardened soldiers. Fight epic battles where arrows pepper the skies, swords hack with fury, and horses and men clash in combat. Combining a sophisticated, dynamic game world and intense medieval sword fighting action, Mount & Blade delivers a game experience never seen before.

Mount & Blade is a game where the players need to learn how to use the sword, how to fight, block and defend against enemies as in real-life, creating a very vivid and challenging experience. Fighting from horse back is a truly unique experience. With your horse you can charge down enemies, flee from them, circle them, etc. Actual riders have been employed ensure the behaviour of the horses is accurate and motion capture has been used to convey the feeling of battling against enemies on horseback.
  • Open game world with the freedom to explore and adventure
  • Five Kingdoms each with their own quests for an incredible single-player campaign
  • Realistic world with quests that fall logically into the world's dynamics
  • Medieval warfare on the modern computer - a hugely rewarding gaming experience
  • Command soldiers and give your troops tactical orders to achieve your objective
  • Innovative battles on foot, horseback and even in siege scenarios
  • Flexible and intelligent AI with three levels of difficulty

 Unique beyond belief

There is no game that does mounted combat as well as this. Initially made by one man and his wife so I believe, they finally managed to find a publisher and here it is. Been playing the beta of this during it's development for a good 6 months or so now. Cracking game with complete freedom to do what you wish. Take note though, it is not your standard game, the sandbox gameplay is the main part, there is no real story as such, it is down to you to create the story you wish, whether that is to take no side and build a massive army to conquer the lands or help a claimant rise to power and take over the land which his armies as well as your own, or just spend your life in the tavern.

While this game is not the best graphically, the gameplay is solid and the fan-base is fantastic, expect a lot of mods upon release, just as there has been all the way through development, all the way from Lord of the Rings mods to Realism mods.

This game is truly something unique, and I hope you will enjoy it as much as I do =]

In an age of re-makes and sequels this game is a breath of fresh air.
Well supported with a forum/modding community it gives so much even in its vanilla form. Hand to hand, cavalry charges, sieges, bowmen, great stuff. No the graphics aren't Crysis, thank god, they designed a game not a pretty picture. Just wait until all those battles and weeping over the loss of elite soldiers who stood by your side from the start, then the king gives you your own castle and village. Dont stop there, go get another one. Well done, buy this game, head phones on and you will be lancing pumpkins in your back garden with a broom.

 Simply awesome

By far and away my best single player game i've ever played. With all the mods for this game it truly is great. I used the battle sizer mod to have 600 unitson the screen yes at 1 time proper braveheart, kingdom of heaven and troy like battle scenes, i used the extra ladder and siege tower mod and the native expansion mod and spent 0ver 300 hours on this beauty, I cant speak highly enough of it.

No other game as ever came close to this for the sheer size of battles, creating proper battle scenes, not only do you control your army with orders and formations you also play and fight as character yourself.

 Awesome in a box

Simply one of the best games out there for an RPG fan. The only possible arguments against this game are the graphics are bland, not bad, but bland and that the game can become a little repetitive. These are very weak criticisms. The graphics are good enough to give you a real feel for the game and there is sooooooooooooo much to do on this game to start with that it would take a couple of new game starts to figure them all out. If that isn't enough then the new expansion Warband makes you able to run your own kingdom! This game is worth the value and can be replayed again and again without becoming boring. Oh and the modding community is unbelievably good, giving Mount and Blade a fresh look every time. If you arent sure whether or not to buy this game, try the demo, which is available on the internet and on Steam for free until you are level 10. To keep it simple, this is the best game I ever bought for under 10 pounds!

 A Hidden Gem

A superb game from a little known developer. It takes its style from a range of genres, rpgs, strategy and first person combat. It is blended into a compelling game with lots of great touches. There are games out there with enormous marketing budgets wallowing around making cliams to greatness. This one sneaks up behind them, steals the flag and runs away laughing.
