Just when you thought that was enough, you get a poster thrown in for good measure.

Not too far in the future... The global natural resources are on the brink of depletion. As our economies and our way of life tumble into chaos, the superpowers clash to gain control...

Set in a fictional future based upon the headlines of today, F.O.W. brings players into the world's next great war. As society succumbs to a worldwide energy crisis, a new global depression takes hold. Amidst this desperate backdrop, two superpower alliances emerge. Join the battle on the frontlines of tomorrow as the Western Coalition or the Red Star Alliance.

The year is 2024 and the world stands on the brink of economic and social breakdown, natural resources are all but gone and the superpowers have reformed. The Western Coalition (Europe and American) and the Red Star Alliance (China and Russia) are now at war over the last remnants of oil in the Caspian. You take control of the Stray Dogs unit (part of the Western Coalition) leader as you fight a series of large scale high intensity battles in a desperate bid to secure your way of life.

Frontlines: Fuel Of War - Special Edition Includes:

  • Exclusive Art Book
  • Limited Edition T-Shirt
  • Official Soundtrack
  • Poster
  • Product Features:

Tomorrow's weapons, today: As depicted in F.O.W., the U.S./E.U. and Russia/China have combined their military research and budgets, and the result is over 60 next-gen vehicles and weapons inspired by military designs for the near future. This includes remote controlled drones, gun cams, and next-generation counter-measures systems, all of which are player-controllable.

Customisation: The customisation system allows players to grow their soldier to fit their play style by choosing a weapons loadout, as well as a technical specialisation (role). As the game progresses each role will upgrade, providing advanced equipment and abilities. The system is a mix of RPG-like depth but with the accessibility of a fast-paced FPS.

Frontline combat system: The main game mechanic featured in F.O.W. in both single player and multiplayer is the ability to join the forces on the frontline. This front expands across large portions of a mission and will require a strategy to achieve the contextual objectives in order to move this front forward. Not only does this system keep the battle centric and players in the midst of the action, it gives a unique sense of advancement as your Division is rewarded with territory for their victories.

Choose your path to victory: Within the front, players can take advantage of a sandbox of destructible elements and various weapons of war to create their own unique paths and strategies. Instead of failing and re-playing the same sequence of events, players can 'chip-away' with varied approaches, allowing diverse missions with high replay value.

Huge multiplayer online battles:Challenge up to 32 players online at any one time. Use high-tech combat systems to collect and relay recon, targeting, and threat information then share this between team mates using squad specific chat.

buggy and great if you like getting continually spawn killed

the screen flickers like mad when you are playing with bands across the screen. if you go to the Kaos site it lists all the faults with XP and Vista.

get spawn killed so many times in a row you lose count and in the end have to move to another server to suffer the same fate!!

when you register on the site to feedback bugs you can't post info.

this game could be so good if they sorted it out

save you money, get COD4 or better still go back to CSS!!!

               out of this world

I played Battlefield 2 then I brought this game, well its a fast game to play, even for a old chap like myself. its again built on team work, but with loads more moden kit to play with......... I like it better than Call Of Duty 4, which in my mind is just a mass orgy of noise.
Frontlines has more going for it, more to gain, or lose, depending what team your on........
In my view, its out of this world, great fun to play. ENJOY

               give it time

This may not apper to be the best game in the world and it cannot be that, as that dose not exest (yet) OK CoD is close and there are some good contenders out there, so where dose this fit? It's good, nice story, plays well and over in no time. Remids me of a girl - what was her name? Anyway it is worth the money, it leaves you wanting more, remids me of a girl - what was her name?

Top game, but BF2 the daddy

              Top 100 PC Reviewer

I have played Frontlines since it's release and I am pleased to say this is one hell of a good game.

If you enjoyed BF2 or BF2142 you will enjoy this game.

If you enjoy COD 4 you will enjoy this game.

The more you play the more you see the depth of the game. The online game is brilliant fun.

Graphically very good indeed, maybe not a crisp as COD 4, but none the less excellent.

Online play is a joy. With many varied maps with destructible buildings, fences shed etc. Think your safe in a hut, think again. The addition of special skills from repair to EMP and remote control weapons, just fantastic. Extremely easy to get into. I have a current fad for remote control stuff. Flying a remote helicopter a couple of hundred meters to explode it over a player trying to take a command point is very satisfying. Driving a little remote car under a tank and detonating it to kill the tank and any next to it, a joy.

You have EMP rockets that can effectively turn off any vehicle for a few seconds and you can hen hit it with rockets, grenades etc. EMP rods that bury into the ground and prevent any tank or such driving past it. Great fun.

Vehicles are very easy to control, I can even fly and fight in the helicopter which is a big 1st for me. If you can master the heli your on the way to chalking up some big kills.

The basic idea of online play is the same as BF series in that you capture positions and force the enemy into a smaller and smaller area where they spawn. Capture all the points and game over. It's also on a timer so if say after 15 minutes per game the game shuts down and the winners are the ones with the most points. I think it s all team play, so if your only into solo death match you may dislike this.

Single play I can't review as I have barely played it.

But to my mind this game IS definitely THE bf2 for the consoles. I am a huge fan of BF2 so that's the daddy on PC, however I bet this is bloomin close.

I recommend this game as a must for all console warriors and a very good 2nd to BF2 on PC.

              Buy it.

               Good fun and fast
