4 Good but not the one!BangorGuy | 03/08/2009 | See all BangorGuy's reviews (6)I loved Railroad Tycoon 2 and played for hours upon hours while this sequel; not so much. It caught some of the essence of the second but just lacked something. It does however have some good qualities that was missing from RT2: Auto-Manage Cars for example where the stations automatically pick the appropriate cars and carriages for that train although this can be overridden. Bends in the track so you can navigate around a mountain or terrain piece without spending more than you should on small diversions.Despite this I didn't feel it was as good as it's previous version and didn't feel as fun to play. The sound was an improvement as it was simply taken from the RT2 and, but the music was new and fresh adding that all important country/western style music that I grew to love from RT2.If you're a massive fan of the series I suggest you buy it and see what you think, however if your a novice and looking for a some sort of railroad based RTS there are others out there. Railroad Tycoon 2 is good example of this. Perhaps they may get the franchise right in a fourth instalment.
