Run the Studio. Make the Movies. Create the Stars!

Based on an original idea from gaming legend Peter Molyneux, The Movies offers a unique combination of creativity, play and challenge. There are three parts to the game - running the studio, nurturing movie stars and making your own movies. Through strategy and skill, players build their studios into entertainment empires by making hit movies, researching and introducing the newest cinematic technologies and nurturing the biggest stars.

The most critically acclaimed element of The Movies is its movie-creation feature. This allows players to write their own screenplay, design sets, pick props, assign roles, shoot it scene-by-scene and then edit their film in post-production.

Extra features included in the Mac version:

  • A full copy of Flip4Mac Studio (the leading video export application) for free
  • Export movies from the game in iPod video format
  • Imports any (unencrypted) song in your iTunes library for movie soundtracks
  • Imports sound effect files from iMovie as sound effects tracks

Ive played this game on the pc, and it was amazing. you can do whatever you want genre wise, and it is really fun. you can add your own voice into the movies, and you can create your own movies. in this game, you're the director!

I've only played the demo, but it is a great game. It's a lot more powerful than it looks, you do actually go through pre and post production - adding soundtracks and whatnot. You start off when the movie industry started off, old technology and good ole' black and white. But as you play the game moves on, so does time and eventually you'll be creating massive blockbusters with proper special effects and advanced filming.

This game is a must buy for the Mac owners out there looking for a good game.
