Key to PES 2008 is a proprietary adaptive A.I. system entitled Teamvision - an advanced A.I. programming that learns and adapts according to an individual's style of play. Teamvision will build attacks and counter specific movements such as previous attacks or defensive errors, ensuring games are more in line with the real thing. Set-pieces have been improved with the addition of a number of new options, including full control over the number of players and the position of the defensive wall.

With the Pro Evolution Soccer series renowned for its fluid, realistic gameplay, PES 2008 builds on the implementation of Teamvision with additional key advances The new A.I. ensures that defenders work to close down space and block efforts on goal, with shot timing still left entirely down to the player. Close control has also been enhanced when dribbling the ball, and a number of subtle moves added to bypass defenders and move the ball into space.

Player detail has been taken to incredible levels in the next-gen versions with full facial animation and the high-definition detail afforded by the hardware used to show full movement and subtle details.
  • All New 'Teamvision' A.I. (Artificial Intelligence) System
  • Improved A.I. for Defenders and Attackers
  • Enhanced Close Control system enabling more control of the ball when dribbling
  • Improved Set Pieces - players now have full control over the defensive wall
  • Increased Player detail with full facial animation
  • Extensive Edit mode including players, kits, badges and stadium names
  • Brand new commentary by John Champion and Mark Lawrenson

Dont compare this game to Pro Evo 6.. This is a brand new engine and been designed from the bottom up. This is a great debut of the engine.. ok its has its flaws but they are way out numbered by the excellent sides of PES2008.

Best Footie Game On The Market

 Cant even install it!

If you are running windows XP 64bit edition do not buy this game as it will not even install.
And the best help Konami can give me is that they did not test the game on Vista or varients of Windows XP
Great!!

I have had no problems with this game, as described by the people below me. The replays are fluid and there is no lag whatsoever. I did install the patch though before i played it so perhaps their problems were before this.

I havent been able to play online yet, as it is currently down. So i cant really review that part of the game.

The offline game is a feast of enjoyment, the players animations have been improved, and the actual style of play feels familiar but with those annual tweaks that we have grown used to.
The graphics have improved significantly since Pro 6, and you really notice the changes in lighting. The graphics are not as good as FIFA however, but that has always been the case.
Just to inform anyone who is put off from buying Pro evo because of the lack of team names and kits. There is a patch/option file that is being finalised by a group of modders that will replace all of them with the correct names/kits etc (one of the main advantages of having a PC instead of a console : ) )

Dont be put off by all the FIFA fanboys or by the fickle so called fans. Every year that a new Pro Evo comes out, you hear a lot of negative comments. This is because Konami like to tweak the gameplay so that things you may have done before, may not work now. This year the emphasis has been put on passing, with the AI punishing players who try to maradona it through the opponents!

£17.99 is also a great price!!

A Fantastic upgrade, i put down pes6 picked up 2008, went online and !bang! its IN!! Very user freindly!!
very playable, it is easier to score, sounds great, but the same goes for the opposition, I have an average of 4 goals per game online, on the old one it was two, very very good online game experiance,
the graphics are much sharper, the players seem to make more mistakes, The ball pings around that box like a hot potatoe, I've scored a few own goals already - not good I know - but very realistic. a must have game for all pes and football fans alike. oh and i booked for diving in the box! lol
bad points, none! loved it, the only thing really is, when you have installed the game and try to go online, you need to visit the official site to download a small patch 15mgb, it is very easy to do, even i can do it!
buy it and i shall see you online!!!!
Get In!

 Amazing!

I don't know what these other guys are on about - this is the best PES since PES3. Great game, lots of fun. I have Vista 32bit and it runs fine on full settings.
