5 DOES EXACTLY WHAT IT SAYS ON THE BOX!Quiggan | 14/06/2009 | See all Quiggan's reviews (166)Top 100 Reviewer Top 100 DVD Reviewer Top 100 Music Reviewer One of the best Brain Trainer programs on the PC, this product is sure to give our minds a thorough workout! There are fifteen games in total split evenly into five distinct categories - Logic, Memory, Numerical, Spital and Verbal. Each game is timed with the best and fastest scores making the scoreboard, while five levels of difficulty for each creates ever increasingly challenging puzzles. Perhaps best of all, though, is that they are randomised to include almost unlimited game play and as a result we will never play the same one twice! The games themselves are very easy to play (although instructions are given) but are fun and highly addictive. We can play them for only minutes at a time if desired and feel the benefit that our perception has been sharpened as well. There is a nice range of puzzles which should suite almost everyone. Wordsearches are included, as is the phenomenally successful Sudoku, plus Fold The Cube (matching a flattened, many coloured box to its 3D representation), a Memory Grid (finding hidden pairs of symbols), a Mental Arithmetic challenge and a Spelling Test. All are designed with ease in mind and are played via point-and-click with the mouse. The only (vaguely) disappointing game for me is the Reading Test as it is too easy to cheat at it. Here we see a page of text from a famous novel displayed and the idea is to read it aloud as quickly and accurately as possible. In my view this should have had the same text littered with grammatical and spelling errors with a time limit given to spot them all.Despite this very minor quibble I cannot recommend this product highly enough and it makes a welcome change from racing cars, shooting Aliens and battling Orcs!
