In the all-new Aliens vs. Predator players will have the chance to take the role of the three infamous species; the Colonial Marine, the Predator and the Alien. Each of the three species has its very own distinct story-driven single-player campaign mode that interweaves with the campaigns of the other two species. Aliens vs. Predator will also feature unique 3-way online multiplayer, allowing gamers to pit the three species against each other in the ultimate battle for survival and for the right to be crowned the deadliest species.

On planet BG-386 a colonist mining group discovers an ancient pyramid containing a dark and horrible secret. Across the stars a race of warriors is alerted to the discovery of their pyramid and a hunting party is dispatched to ensure that it remains sealed at all costs, whilst deep inside the ruined pyramid a malevolent intelligence awakes from centuries of dormancy.

  • The Marine's story is an incredible fight against the odds, and the horrors lurking in the dark. Beset on all sides yet armed to the teeth, the Colonial Marine represents humanity's last stand with the firepower to fight back.
  • As the Alien, players will discover what it's like to be the most murderous and lethal creature in the universe, with the ability to traverse any surface with awesome agility in order to get close enough to unleash its deadly teeth and claws.
  • A master of the hunt, the Predator grants the player a suite of exotic weaponry and equipment with which to stalk its unknowing prey. Earn the greatest honour by ambushing prey up-close and butchering them for a gory trophy kill.

I read some early reviews which were really positive so took a chance and bought this but now regret it. I have mainly played as the predator and got bored within a few hours. You basically have 2 strategies for combat - either you jump down at an isolated marine and instant kill him or if your fighting aliens then stealth is pointless and i found the best way is to stand still, block the initial attack then light attack back, hardly gripping gameplay. You cant seem to attack multiple marines as theyll shoot you done in seconds and aliens attack in groups and are so fast that I easily lose sight of where they are, hence i stand still. The only fun attack is the instant kill but this is useless against more than one foe as it takes while to complete, in which time youre being gunned down or mauled and can do nothing about it. Maybe as the game developes and new items become availible your options will vary but I really can't be bothered to find out. As for the Alien, my experience is limited but I find it hard to maintain my orientation and control. Like the predator, killing everthing in the same way becomes tedious very quickly. Lastly the marine, which is my favourite. The motion sensor really adds to the tension but there are so many fps solider games out there that are better. There are some things that i liked for instance all the sounds from the films that you would expect to hear have been included, but that does not make a great game unfortunately.

We're in some real pritty s**t now man!

Do you remember when you bought a game, you'd install it & play it & enjoy? (Mostly) Do you remember when you didn't need third party software to run it? Do you remember being able to play online, having a clear list & choice of which server to go for & if someone dropped out it didn't cause the game to suddenly end? Do you remember when there was no need for patches, fixes, trawling the internet for hours reading eveyones ideas about how to get the damn thing working? Only to find out that it wasn't really finished in the first place, becuase there's an endless stream of patches etc being developed. Well here we go yet again.
AVP, im a big fan of both Alien, Predator & the AVP franchises so not buying this game was NOT an option. It is of course a console game, even though how they expect you to control an Alien with those pads is anyones guess, it's beyond tedious. So mouse & keyboard it is then. Praise the lord It is soo much easier with a mouse & keyboard, I also upgraded my PC to a damn good spec, it looks fantastic, the atmosphere is spot on, in the Marine campaign the first time you come across a bug is great, the Alien & Predator campaigns feel like an nicley polished after thought because the IA is the funniest thing you'll see for a while. My main gripe is the random stutters, freezes that sometimes brings the game back, sometimes back to desktop sometimes locking my whole PC up. Getting a stable & lasting match online is also bloody annoying.
I bet it works fine for the consoles & yes I understand that working with clone hardware & software makes it easier to develop but, PLEASE release when it's ready. I don't mind waiting for a game that'll be "Fit for purpose" which i don't think AVP is. So I think.
4 STARS for the game. I love it.
2 STARS for the fact i'm having issues getting to play the damn thing!
1 STAR for Play not being able to get it to me on release date, even though i pre-ordered way in advance.

 Good but......

Based off of the demo on steam this game is pretty fun, i think it lives up to expectation on both graphics and gameplay, but i couldnt help but think that its made for consoles, playing as the alien requires you to press the mouse buttons franticly trying to make a kill out of more chance than skill, and the marines weapons dont seem to be much good either, even for killing other marines, so it looses a star for that. but for 18 pounds it's worth getting

Dont Judge based on the demo

Having played the demo i must say im inpressed by what i saw however alot of people seem to be making judgements & now not buying it because of the demo which is a shame because they'll be missing out, they did say in the intro it dosnt represent the final game in anyway so my advice would be to wait untill its realesed to make any judgements on it.

The demo is very good, the default controlsare good, but a little simple, most likely to help new players. After customising the controls to beter suit a g15 and g5 setup I fell in love.

I love FPS games that test reflexes, tactis and strategy without too much camping or just nade spamming (looking at you COD series). AvP ticks this box.

The combat is fast and furious and depending on race plays very differently. Adding a lot of variety!

As a Marine you start with the motion sensor and pulse rifle, this being your racial advantage, high ammo and clip size and death from range plus an indication of any movement (but not which angle it's coming from). You suck at melee but you can't have it all.

As a Xenomorph (Alien to non-fans) you have no ranged attack only melee but have speed, agility and close combat as your racial advantage. You fail at using stealth and sped and the Marine will destroy you, get up cose and you will tear them apart.

As The Predator, you are a fairly fast, fairly good at close combat, with powerful weaponry you must find, but it is slow firing but very powerful.

Great variety

Great Game!
