 Lacks Content

| | See all Taisenki's reviews (4)

No new content besides weapons and storyline (or StoryBlob)

The campaign is about 4 hours. The biggest let down is the AI.

Your team mates are designed to look pleasing in a fight. They rarely kill an enemy by themself. One enemy ran past 4 of my allied soldiers. 2 of which were shooting him but the bullets were evidently made of fairy dust =)

Physics - Wouldn't mind some in Call of Duty. The most physics there seems to be is that your hand grenade throws like your bowling a plastic apple high. (Hand grenade now also have a white tracer)

Multiplayer - Small maps, Small player limit. Would it be too much to ask to go back to large maps and 64 player limit with dedicated servers. Like the old call of duty? Or has technology got significantly worse in the last 10 years that our computers can't handle it.

thank you

no where near as good as cod4

Wile the single player is alright its nothing like the quality MW was it has no feel to it and brings nothing new atall not like the gripping missions in the ruins of Chernobyl or the AC-130 gunship mission it's just not very fun and its very short even playing on the hardiest dif you only get a little over 6 hours

The spec ops is a nice touch teaming up with a friend or going solo and some of the levels are good such as the overwatch missions having one person on the ground the other in a AC-130 but in the end most of them are as lacking as the single player and not enough to keep you entertained for long

and now multilayer well first off the definitive multilayer experience is a load of bull MP now uses a system not unlink a PS3 or xbox you get thrown into any game you have no choice to pick the server or map only the game type and if its core or HC its laggy and there are quite a few hackers in it you also have no auto kick so your stuck with them all in all MP is a total let down

ps. sorry for the bad spelling/grammar you will have to live with it

 Just to Let u know!

Just letting rest of the Fans of the long running series of COD on PC that this game Fails (especially if you are in to youre Clan side of the game like me)

For those who dont know !

they have removed Dedicated servers therefore you will be connectiing to a Auto Selected Host in the UK or EU with the option of playing a maximum of 9v9, this will now more than likely put a big halt on the Compettive Clan side of the game.

Also they have removed the LEAN feature which in my eyes of a major parts of the tactical play online and i dont understand why they havent implemented this.

basicly this game is just a Console port, IW hav had no intention of making us long time commited and loyal customers of the PC platform who made IW who they r a pleased customer.

 Grossly Inferior to MW1

Well, i was so looking forward to this game, even though i bought MW1 only a few months ago. And unfortunately, i have been sorely disappointed. Try to imagin MW1, but with less options. There you go. You have it.

Lets get the positives out of the way first- lovely graphics, great gameplay, more weapons. That's it.

Now the negatives:

I bought the game at 6pm a few evenings ago, and had completed the campaign long before 10pm. Granted, on easy level, but it just shows that Activision and co. have quite simply ignored the concerns of consumers by actually SHORTENING the single player campaign.

And now for the main event- Multiplayer. In an absolutely shocking and mind-boggling turn of events, Activision and Co. have REMOVED dedicated servers. That's right- no choosing which server you want to play on, no customising rules, no lovingly made player content and- worst of all- LIMITED TO 9vs9 online. Say goodbye to those lovely 20vs20 battles.

Save your money people, they are charging much more for much much less. And seemingly getting away with it. If you are a real FPS Multiplayer lover like myself, then avoid this game like the rotting plague it is. It is grossly inferior to MW1 in almost every perceivable way.

Please do not waste your money like i have...

 Disrespectful to it's original fanbase.

The single player is a short disjointed action romp with some set pieces akin to that of a Michael Bay movie.

The Co-op play is the strongest aspect of the game providing a selection of missions which are undertaken by yourself and a friend, these vary from disarming bombs in the Favellas of Rio to one player covering the other from the gunner seat of an AC-130.

The multiplayer component to MW2 is a disgrace when compared to the experience provided by CoD4 and even CoD:WaW. Infinity War opted to drop dedicated servers for the PC making broad sweeping claims in regards to cheating being rife on dedicated servers to a majority of PC players struggling to utilise server browsers. As such Infinity War rolled out their system dubbed IW.Net which is a Peer-to-Peer matchmaking system.

The P2P matchmaking system which was rolled out by IW was rationalised as a quicker and easier way of providing multiplayer for the community which would eradicate cheaters and give players a highly accessible and quick multiplayer experience. What IW neglected to mention was that their P2P system requires users to set-up port forwarding schemes.

This system results in reduced performance as the host machine has to perform all the calculations a dedicated server would in addition to performing the calculations of the player. IW have also removed the numerical ping display, replacing it with a 4 bar system which does not provide any accurate indication of pings. Both these issues add to the poor online performance often resulting in very laggy servers. The P2P system also means that when a host quits the server has to migrate to the next best machine causing a break in the gameplay. This break can either been a short 30 second break while it transfers data or alternatively it can result in the game you were playing disappearing due to migration issues.

Another effect of the lack of dedicated servers means that hackers which are around enjoy their games unimpeded as there are no admins to kick/ban the cheats and there is no system to vote kick a player from a server for cheating.

The other major factor in regards to the IW.Net system is that it means there is no mod support and no custom map support. IW.Net allows IW and Activision full control of all content on the PC meaning that if you want more maps odds are you will have to pay for them in the form of DLC packs.

The Multiplayer Balance of the game is also quite poor with several weapons being obscenely powerful relegating many of the other weapons useless once you have unlocked these better weapons. Two examples of this imbalance would be the ACR which is an assault rifle which is fully automatic with laser accuracy and zero recoil. The second example would be akimbo 1887 shotguns (the shotgun used by the terminator in T2) these shotguns are garunteed one hit kill at ranges outdoing all other shotguns and at smg effective range.

The final issue with MW2 is that the PC was given a straight up console port. The FoV is limited to what you would receive on the PS3 or 360 and the graphics options are highly limited.

TL;DR - If you are looking for an FPS fix there are better games, albeit older games, on the market. I'd suggest consumers wait untul for the pelthora of releases due early next year.
