I recieved my order today and so far haven't played on the game as I am still building my super computer Intel i7 processor :)

I brought this game as at £9.99 it seemed a bargain and one of those games that is a system benchmark tester for your hardware.

I eagerly opened the packet only to find a totally different case to the one advertised.

Mine is an EA classics box with the image of what the old box looked like.

This is advertising full price games and selling cheaper classic software, so in some respects trading standards.

Top Game, but you need a top spec PC!

When I first played the SP Demo, I was amazed with what I saw. Yes, it's not a very easy game to get use to at first, but it becomes such an amazing game once you progress throughout the levels. Of course, it's predecessor Far Cry was amazing, but with the amazing tropical environments transforming straight into a cold and dark environment, where aliens are now to take over, it's just such a creative storyline!

Within the gameplay aspects of the game, it's indeed fun. You are wearing a nanosuit, which allows you to use functions which makes you run fast (Maximum Speed), makes you have powerful jumps and punches (Maximum Strength), allows you to be fully protected from incoming fire (Maximum Armour) and my favourite function within the nanosuit, Stealth Cloak. These features are amazing, and the outcome is something of which you will enjoy. Just remember that these features will ease off depending on your energy within the game. Another amazing feature as well is the weapons customization. You get to customize a weapon in any way you feel necessary. You can add a suppressor (If you're the type of player who wants to use the stealth tactics of this game), you can add a sniper scope, assault scope or a reflex site as well. Other customizations are also grenade launchers, types of ammunition etc. I won't ruin it as their are some pretty fun customizations to use. If you think weapons don't damage an enemy soldier to easily then use objects placed near you within that level. These objects can be boxes to barrels, which can have a funny but realistic outcome. So that's another fun feature to use as well. The environment is also destructible as well, you can destroy palm trees, shoot at vegetation, and can bomb shanty houses which have amazing results. That is something you can use against the enemies.

The animation is lifelike, works perfectly with the enemy AI, has different reactions depending on which soldier, and the AI can do common stuff such as cleaning, being lazy (Smoking, going for a wizz in the corner of the house, or can chat with others). If the AI sees an enemy, it will react instantly and fight back. Other AI's will be alerted as well. They may use a signal flare to call for backup, wave their arms or use a radio to communicate for backup. The AI is smart enough to fight against you, meaning it makes it harder for those with little experience of FPS games. In total, the features are amazing. You won't be disappointed.

The level design, in general, is amazing. You will experience tropical environments, indoor environments which have been designed amazingly. Each level is massive, so it will be fun to explore. CryEngine2 delivers this amazing scenery, so you won't be again disappointed with this game.

Alongside the animation comes to physics, which in general makes the gaming experience fun. My opinion is that they should have worked a little harder on the physics for the human AI, it's not very realistic when they fall to the ground. Object physics such as a barrel roll, or the rope physics have proven to work with this game. I believe the physics works fine, but can have a few drawbacks once you play this game over time.

Other than that, if you buy this game, you get yourself a software to use as well, known as the Sandbox 2. This is a map editor to create your own Single Player to Multiplayer Maps as well. You can add music to your levels, to vegetation and animation. There's lots of things you can add. It will take time to learn all of this though, but it's still something you can enjoy!

Overall, great game, but you need a top spec PC! It runs okay on old PC's, but if you have money to spend on a gaming PC, buy it. I recommend it.

Needs a strong PC to run well, multiplayer needs work.

First off the single player campaign is amazing. You are a super-soldier able to increase his speed, physical strength or turn invisible depending on how you are feeling at the time.
The game is a little buggy so downloading a patch or two is neccassary to avoid random game crashes and even after that you should still autosave every 5 min or so.
The Multiplayer is OK, not great, which is why I marked this game 4/5. You can play 2 modes -
1. Halo/ COD style deathmatch mode where you run around killing anything that moves in a small urban arena.
2. A team based location holding mode (battlefield style) where you simply travel a massive map taking control of strategic areas in order to get max points before your enemy team does.

My main problem with multiplayer is that, in deathmatch, no thought has gone into spawn points and just like back in Golden Eye nintendo 64 days you end up spawning right into a shotgun blast in the face. I enjoy the team based mode more, but without being part of a clan you find that most people dont know what they are doing and it just ends up being a long boring waiting game.

So Summary: Single player good, Multiplayer not so good, Need a PC worth your months wage in order to play at full spec. Do NOT buy this game if your PC does not meet reccomended specifications.

  Get a decent graphic card!

An amazing game if you have the right software! Used to run it on medium with 7900GT graphic card and 1 gig ram. Slow load times and not much detail but have new gaming rig and wow a complete contrast.

Spec

i7 965 extreme overclocked to 3.6 Ghz
12 Gig DDR3 1600 RAM
Quad SLi GTX 295
1 TB HDD

Run in DX10 mode on very high still quick about 20 fps with AA on. Quicker if you drop to high but still playable.

Game plenty of replay value, must get a decent pc like owning a superbike but it is restricted if you have an old pc!!

  Gorgeous!!!

Well i recently brought a new high spec pc with two games in mind, one being flight simulator x and the other being this masterpiece!! This game is breathtaking when you first fire it up, i have never seem such a good looking game before. Set aside the graphics for a moment however and this is a very solid shooter with decent controls and various ways of playing.. i.e cloak and sneak up on enemies in the lush jungle (feeling like the predator as you do) or set maximum armour and run in guns blazing, it is up to you. Be warned however, as the posters below mentioned, this game requires some serious hardware to run, i have a Phenom 2 quad core 3.00GHz, ati raidon 4870 and 8 gig of ram and im playing with high detail as it can become laggy on ultra high. It still looks incredible on this setting however. if you have the specs, you need to own this game!!!!!

  Must have game

If you own a gaming pc with a decent spec you simply have to own this game. Its the best way imaginable to show of your hardware and really put all that money you spent on your pc to good use. The graphics, paritcularly the forests and beeches, are out of this world. The gameplay is fast past and fun, enabling you to tackle each mission in a multitude of different ways.
Sure it is elitist because anyone with anything less than a new/current, expensive gaming rig hasn't got a chance in hell of playing it. But if you spent the bucks on your machine sit back and enjoy. Games like this are the reason you forked out on a gaming pc and your console will be collecting dust in the loft.

  Amazing

Amazing game, if you like abit of action mixed with a brilliant story line, then crysis is the game for you!!
I could only run this on medium on my system: Core2duo 3.1ghz(oc), nvidia 9500gt, 2gb ram..
But let me tell you now, medium setting on this game are still amazing, the water is especially good graphics.. You'll enjoy killing the... Because of this =p

Buy this game.. Enjoy it and then upgrade your computer and play it again for the fun of it.. The dvd also includes a sandbox.. So you can experiment and make you own =]

Only bad this about this game is it ending.. I wish it could go on forever!!

  Best i've played!

Crysis is too powerful for most pc's. You need a good gaming rig to play on high detail. The Delta level is too easy and graphics superb. Must buy for gamers!
