Left 4 Dead 2 is the sequel to the best-selling and critically-acclaimed co-operative multiplayer smash from Valve. The title adds melee combat to the award-winning L4D style of play, with items such as a chainsaw, frying pan, axe, baseball bat, and more. The setting is at roughly the same time as the original - just after the outbreak that turned most of the population into various zombie mutants. Players assume the role of 4 new "Survivors," each with their own personality and new dialogue. The game leads these Survivors through the south-eastern region of the US - from Savannah, Georgia through the bayou country, and climaxing in New Orleans' French Quarter. Left 4 Dead 2 offers a much larger game than the original with more co-operative campaigns, more versus campaigns, maps for Survival Mode at launch, and more...
  • Suitable for 18 years and over. Not for sale to persons under age 18. By purchasing this product, you declare that you are 18 years of age and over.
  • Next-generation co-op action gaming from the makers of Half-Life, Portal, Team Fortress and Counter-Strike.
  • AI Director 2.0: Advanced technology dubbed "The AI Director" drove L4D's unique gameplay - customising enemy population, effects, and music, based upon the players' performance. Left 4 Dead 2 features "The AI Director 2.0" which expands the Director's ability to customise level layout, world objects, weather, and lighting to reflect different times of day.
  • New melee weapons - axe, chainsaw, frying pan, baseball bat - allow you to get up close with the zombies.
  • Four different Survivors. New story. New dialogue.
  • More game. On day one, Left 4 Dead 2 features more co-operative campaigns, more campaigns and maps for the Versus game modes than Left 4 Dead, plus support for Survival Mode out of the box.
  • Stats, rankings, and awards system drives collaborative play.

Demo review , and if THATS the demo?

Bring on the zombie hordes is what I say.
The graphics look better than before and the zombies ( providing you don't get censored) ( which may/will/has happened in Oz) look spectacularly gory, blood and bits flying all over the place.
There are 4 new characters to get to play with, and as well as your favorite special monsters there are at least 3 more that I have seen while playing the demo.
There are more guns as well including a Scar, an AK47, magnum auto pistol as well as few other new ones and melee weapons too including machete ( best ) to guitar ( it IS New Orleans) , a chainsaw ( slow , noisy but still good) and bizarrely a frying pan ( makes a satisifying clonk sound). After the hassle of the demo being delayed by a few days ( man the forums were hot with the anger those days I can tell you - hence the missing star), we can all but hope that they get their act together and release what promises to be a polished product,
I can hardly wait for it to be released, .

 Great game

well start off by talking about the jump from L4D to L4D2, some people were very angry hearing about the new release as valve my have said that DLC (downloadable content) was coming to L4D but it never did arrive instead the makers were working on this. Despite all that this has to be an amazing squeal to its predecessor as L4D set bar high and number two i think has smashed it.
Graphics are pretty awesome wont say there the best out there as i dont think any games are gona beat the likes of crysis, cod and so on. but in the game they have relaly upped the gore and ai of the zombies and the people you work with! which is great cos they use to be aweful and didnt help!
multiplayer is new and redesigned they really wanted to make it a new fresh experience for the first people that played l4d and the new customers. many game modes which make it esay to spend far to long on the game.
i did find one thing which i was disappointed in iam not sure if everyone feels the same but you have a "singleplayer" but not really a campain you can start on the last level if you wanted and work your way to the first.. and it doesnt really tell you if you have completed the single player missions but other than that it seems to be top notch. any fan of shooting zombies this is a must have.
Price (GBP):
Game - 26.99
Play - 26.99
Steam - 29.99
(would recommend buying from play as they have the best REP plus always nice to have a hard copy of the game.)
Now your computer doesnt have to be a super computer to run this game as its a fairly low demanding game but decent stuff will help.
CPU: AMD Phenom BE 9850 (2.5ghz)
OS: Windows 7 x64
(150+ FPS)

I have played the demo through about 30+ times now and all I can say is this game is brilliant fun to play. I played the first one and its more of the same type of gameplay with more guns to choose from etc. I will be definitely buying this game on pc as I had the first one on xbox 360 and pc trounces it because of the accuracy of the mouse. Left for dead games is all about accuracy and the pc version id say is your best option if you want the most out this amazing game. I am getting tons of fun just out the demo on steam, you should try it now !

This is my absolute favourite online game and has been for the past year. On PC it's best played with a group of friends with headsets, but online with random members of the public can be fun too - like you're meeting up with random survivors after the zombie apocalypse.

You can play it for a few minutes in one of the competative game modes or just go all out and spend hours going through the campaigns getting achievements. Lots of mayhem and fun to be had, limbs to be lost and flesh to be mashed.

This game is untouchable in its genre (coop FPS) and will be for months and months to come, no doubt.

To put it simply, one of the best co-op games on the internet to date.

Grab your friends and battle your way through fun and creepy campaigns with big guns and newly added melee weapons. When you get bored of that, you and your friends can vs other groups of friends online in various gaming modes ...in which you can play as both The Survivors and The Infected.

Buy it. Get your friends to buy it. Go kill some Zombies!

(warning: must download & install Steam to play ...Steam is free download online.)
