SAW is a third-person perspective, survival horror game based on the SAW film franchise. SAW features many of the deadly mechanical traps seen in the film, as well as terrifying new ones. Players will pit their wits against Jigsaw as they navigate his world in an attempt to evade and escape his gruesome traps, while also struggling against his minions in brutal combat by using weapons found within the environment.

The story centres on Detective David Tapp who awakens in a decrepit, abandoned asylum. He has been captured by his longtime nemesis, Jigsaw. Obsessed with catching this serial killer, Tapp's mission has consumed him and ruined his family, resulting in divorce, mental imbalance, and abandonment. Worse yet, this frantic hunt destroyed Tapp's career while he watched his long-time friend and partner get killed by one of Jigsaw's traps. Now Jigsaw has the upper hand and has captured the detective. Tapp must play a deadly game - the likes of which he has been investigating for years - to escape, and in order to do so he must survive the lethal traps and puzzles that Jigsaw has put in place for him and others. But each victim has a dark connection to Tapp. Will Tapp save them? Can he survive his obsession to find the Jigsaw killer?

Its time to play the SAW game.

Its time to play a game. I first SAW this advertised and i thought, how the hell do you make a computer game of the Saw series but i thought i'd try it out, see what its like. Got it for christmas and tried it out. And i was actually very surprised in the gameplay itself. Although the hand to hand combat is a little dissapointing, the storyline is very good, the story is that you are a detective called detective Tapp, and after been shot you have been caught by the jigsaw killer himself. Whilst operating on Tapp, Jigsaw kindly inserts a key inside him, which is the other victims, of the jigsaws sick games, key to the way out of the very spooky facility. While on your paths for survival you have to help these victims out of Jigsaws crazy and death defying traps for the next clue of getting out of the facility yourself, but the others are trying to kill you for the key to there survival. Very interesting and well worth it i'd say, especially for Saw fans. To make things more interesting, turn the lights out at night, and blast the volume up on your speakers. It will scare the daylights out of you. Very freaky, but superb game.

I thought I'd give this one a go since it was made by the Silent Hill guys so I anticipated a similarly spooky and weird experience and that is what I got but not quite in the same way as Silent Hill. SAW focuses a bit more on visual intensity and jumpy moments to get its scares and it works well.

After a slow start, the game gets darker, deeper and very eerie. A fairly decent story kept me interested too. If your a fan of the SAW films or survival horror games, you should definitely give this a go, it's not a bad little game.
