The year is 2027. The world as we know it is unraveling after fifteen years of economic meltdown and widespread global conflict over dwindling natural resources.

A once proud America has fallen, her infrastructure shattered and military in disarray. Crippled by a devastating EMP strike, the USA is powerless to resist the ever expanding occupation of a savage, nuclear armed Greater Korean Republic.

Abandoned by her former allies, the United States is a bleak landscape of walled towns and abandoned suburbs. This is a police state where high school stadiums have become detention centers, and shopping malls shelter armored attack vehicles. A once-free people are now prisoners... or collaborators... or revolutionaries.

Join the Resistance, stand united and fight for freedom against an overwhelming military force in Homefront's gripping single player campaign penned by John Milius (Apocalypse Now, Red Dawn). Stand alongside a cast of memorable characters as an emotional plot unfolds in this terrifyingly plausible near-future world. Experience visceral, cinematic first-person shooter action as you fight your way across Occupied USA using guerrilla tactics, and commandeer military vehicles and advanced drone technology to defeat the enemy.

Multiplayer brings epic warfare to the online arena as infantry, tanks, attack helicopters and combat drones battle across huge, open battlefields. A rich feature set offering layers of tactical depth combined with a game-changing innovation in the multiplayer space will set a new benchmark in online warfare.

Top 100 Games Reviewer

Man we are a fussy gaming community. Why do we have to compare every game to one of our favourites. It used to be meh this isnt as good as Half Life 2 so I will give it one star. Then is was meh this isnt as good as Crysis so I will give it one star and more recently its. Meh his isnt as good as Modern Warfare so I will give it one star. This has been heavily compared to the COD games and then slated because of it. This is unfair as its actually really good. I think this is the only genre that does it. You never see people saying. This new science fiction movie isnt as good as Star Wars so I will give it one star or. This fantasy movie isnt as good as Lord of the Rings so I will give it one star. Things are allowed to be worse than something we hold dear but it doesnt automatically make them bad. We will quite happily spend fourteen pound on a blue ray and be entertained for an hour and half and not complain. But spend twenty five pound on a game that entertains for only six hours and we are in uproar.

The single player is short but well done in every department. It uses some very harsh realities about war to make you quite literally hate the opposition before you even got to pick up a gun. I felt more motivation and empathy towards the resistance than I did to Price Soap and Gaz. The locations are recognizable and product placement works to enhance the recognition. This helps you believe you are defending you homeland. Some of the later set pieces are truly thrilling and also chilling.

The multiplayer doesnt really do anything new. It uses every modern FPS multiplayer mechanic. It does it well. Just not better than the big players in this field.

Every game doesnt have to be a landmark in gaming history. It just needs to be entertaining. This is very entertaining while it lasts.

 Awful

Im a Battlefield baby and have always loved the Battlefield series so given the hype with this game thought I would get it whilst I waited for Battlefield 3.

However this game is a console game and has no place being on the PC Platform!!!

Simply put this game is god awful!

If youre looking for an engaging first person shooter with a brilliantly put together single player story line then youre better off buying call of duty modern warfare 1 and 2.
But thats not what this game was supposed to be anyway. Its supposed to be a Call of Duty/Battlefield mashup that will beat Call of Dutys multiplayer experience and provide you with elements of Battlefields vehicle carnage with Humvees tanks and choppers. As it stands this is far from the truth. The infantry side of things feels sluggish and clunky. The Vehicles just dont work due to the size of the maps being so small youve driven past everyone and reached the boundaries of the game before youve even gotten comfortable in the driving seat.
The Graphics are dated and dont show off any kind of decent real world physix or destructibility. If someone is hiding behind a small wooden fence or thin wall I expect to be able to shoot them as is possible in the recent Call of dutys and Battlefield Bad Company 2.
The sound is one more thing to complain about but Im bored of moaning about this pure drivelling Rubish that has been so over advertised and hyped. Total waste of 25 quid.
Want my advice buy Crysis 2 even though the demo was flawed its still better than Homefronts shear lack of imagination and execution.

 What a let down!!

i had been looking forward to this game for ages, but when i got it... i was so disapointed,.... where to begin... campaign.. very short, poor story, lack of guns, lack of intensity (just didnt draw you into the game) and did i mention it was very short. Multi-player... is good except for you carnt join a game.. the servers are so bad i sat in the party lobby for 45 minutes without getting into a game. BUT when i did finally get into game it was Good (end a bad reveiew with a good point)

 oh dear.....

THQ tried there best......but it is just not in the same league as the others. Thrown together, with moments of greatness, but all too few and short lived. Keep you cash just not worth it even a 24.99.

 So so

I would have liked to say that I throroughly enjoy the game but to be honest I can't.
Graphically its ok, on par with COD4, there are already cheaters and hackers aimbotting which always lets a game down, single player is ok and worrying more like a propaganda piece than a fictional scenario, basically saying Koreans are all bad. and Americans are all good and hard done by
Multiplayer is laggy and if you can find a server that is populated and not too slow then its ok, running around trying to find the badguys without getting shot, the equipment selection is ok but no way as extensive as Black ops.
Get it if you like FPS with a little danger as sometimes the enemy can be hard to see.
