Eve Online is a massively multiplayer, online, persistent world game. Perhaps even too real to be called a game, but definitely more fun than reality.
Played on the Net, it takes place in a world that is alive and kicking every day, every hour. You are a spaceship captain cruising around the universe, trading, fighting and communicating with other players.
In this expanding world, four major empires hold the balance of power. For more than a century they have lived together in relative peace as each of them realizes only too well the grave consequences of a massive interstellar war. Recent technological breakthroughs have shaken, but not broken, the fragile peace - at least not yet.
A Galactic Scope - Eve is a massively multiplayer game, set in a world of galactic proportions. This online universe is governed by a hyper-capitalistic economy where space flight is the path to all commerce, communication, and conflict. Your mission is to establish yourself as a major competitor, trusted by your friends, feared by your enemies.
To accomplish this, your principle tools -- apart from an impressive array of sophisticated equipment, customisable space ships and in-game corporations -- will be your natural business acumen, social skills, Machiavellian thinking and cunning combat strategies.
  • Thousands of players can exist within the Eve universe simultaneously!
  • You can choose from four playable races, each with 2 seperate bloodlines. Making a total of 8 choices.
  • Over 40 fully customizable ships to purchase and pilot.
  • Communicate with fellow players through in-game instant messenger, messageboard, and e-mail.
  • Buy and sell stock in player-created Corporations on the sophisticated stock market exchange.
  • Real life space phenomena exist such as nebulae, asteroid fields, comets, ion storms, and black holes.
  • You can plot your own career path-follow a solitary course, or join a group.
  • Diverse agent network system allows you to conduct hundreds of different missions.
  • Amazing visuals and special effects, which rival the best Hollywood can offer-includes real-life space phenomena such as nebulae, asteroid fields, comets, ion storms, and black holes.

Please note: After the first 30 days this is a subscription game and you will need a credit or debit card upon registration.

Ive been playing EVE for three years now, the start can be a slight frustrating because you have so much you can do and so much you have to earn the right to do (you have a tutorial that helps you start the game and gain a feel for what you need to be doing), (but that is short lived) everything in this game revolves around a massive universe an average players on line number is usually 30- 40'000 at peak game times, but the game is so massive you just cant comprehend how many are actuall playing. You start off as a brand new shiny alien person of your choice and there are four races to choose from "Minmatar, Caldari, Amarr and Gallante" all have different attributes for you to develope. The game runs on a real life persective of Skills and finances, IE you have a little ship to start with and as you progress yo can buy a bigger better one , but only when you have enough money and skills to fly it. skills also cost money to buy and time to learn (everything costs in eve...just like R/L). ways in which you can explore the game vary vastly so a cut down expl' of it is: PVP fighting other players , corporations and alliances, trading of general everything like stock markets etc, and mining for ore and minerals. All of these will at some time on a regular basis envolve fighting with other players or computer generated pirates, everthing is randomly generated so no two hours are the same. you travel accross the universe through solar syatem warp gates, if you were to travel from one edge of EVE to the other it would take you at least an hour or two depening on PVP, Traps and Pirates. The graphics are in two stages normal and enhanced the normal ones are good, but the enhanced will blow your mind. Thats just a little tip of the iceberg for you in explaining what EVE's about, but if you want more check out EVE-ONLINE for the deepest insight. Game on, and lose youself talking to other players all around the world :)

 Simply Amazing

Best game i've ever played. Even better now that the graphics have been upgraded. This is the only mmorpg you need.

So good , so impressive EvE Online becomes a way of life not just a simple game. Imagine the 1980 classic Elite with every ship you fly past being a real live online person. Simply Fantastic.
