Set approximately 10 years after the events of the original BioShock, the halls of Rapture once again echo with sins of the past. Along the Atlantic coastline, a monster has been snatching little girls and bringing them back to the undersea city of Rapture. You are the very first Big Daddy as you travel through the decrepit and beautiful fallen city, chasing an unseen foe in search of answers and your own survival.

Multiplayer in BioShock 2 provides a rich prequel experience that expands the award-winning BioShock gameplay. Set during the fall of Rapture, players assume the role of a Plasmid test subject in the underwater city that was first explored in the original BioShock. Players will need to use all the elements of the game's toolset to survive as the full depth of the BioShock experience is refined and transformed into a unique multiplayer experience that can only be found in Rapture.

Ok as the game is out at midnight tonight I have yet to play it. But this is a quick review for the LTD Box Set as many of you may be thinking if it is worth it.
You get a very sturdy and robust box that is of very high quality. The top opens to reveal the 12" Bioshock soundtrack. Again this is the same quality you would get on a normal release in the shops. Not a gatefold and no insert mind you but it is good.
Then under this is a fantastic embossed box that contains the rest of the goodies.
Three posters again in great quality rolled up and enclosed in plastic wrapping to keep it in good condition.
The CD soundtrack for Bioshock 2 is next, this is contained in a card sleeve. This is the only let down of the box, a nice digi pack may have been a nice touch.
The highlight is a full hard back book containing many images of the games artwork. If you are a fan of Bioshock this is worth the extra 15 quid alone. With side notes and info on the design of the game. It is split into chapters to give a real insight into how the game all came together. A great coffee table book that may just find many people wanting to play the game to see the artwork come to life.

When this comes it screams quality and attention to detail. The black box is heavy duty, more than enough to protect the contents.

The LP is excellent and sounds great. It may not be practical for some people but it's still a great addition because it fits into the theme so well. This is the score for Bioshock 1, for those who don't know.

The art book has so much work in it with beautifully drawn characters and other visuals. Goes to show how much work has gone into this game.

I have not yet opened the posters but they are well sealed with a protective layer as well.

The game itself has a shiny cover and it plays well too. It's so immersive and very well written. Draws you in from the first minute or so. Anyone who has played the original will love this.

And finally the CD. This is the Bioshock 2 score. It is made to look like an old single. There are ridges on top and I actually though I was supposed to put it on a record player to begin with. The underside is black too so it was a bit confusing.

All in all an amazing investment. It is so well done, even the inside of the box is designed to fit in with rapture. Would recommend to any Bioshock fan.

Basically more of the same so if you liked Bioshock you're going to like this. There have been some tweaks - new weapons, research, new splicers etc and the programmers have responded to the criticism of the first game's end boss fight. Graphics are a step up and are a bit more resource heavy. It could be argued that the game missed the opportunity for radical advancement in weapons and gameplay and there's nothing like the last game's stunning plot revelation, this time we have a critique of collectivism. No complaints from me though, I was solidly entertained. The Collector's edition is nice - a picture outer box protects the butterfly inner box, the main features of which are a nice hardbound book and the soundtrack on CD, the advertising posters are small but nicely done though what the point of the soundtrack on vinyl is, I do not know. It would have been better to produce a smaller box without this - cheaper and less shelf space.
