In 2001, Max Payne arrived to set the benchmark for action gaming, earning countless awards and revolutionizing the genre with cinematic combat sequences fuelled by the groundbreaking use of slow motion and compulsive narrative-driven gameplay. Now, working together with Rockstar Games' New York-based production team, Remedy has combined Max Payne's hallmark gameplay with all new innovations and unmatched production values. Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne is set to raise the bar for action games all over again when it's released.
  • Storyline - a violent, Film Noir love story between a cop and a femme fatale murder suspect, between Max Payne and Mona Sax. Dark, tragic and intense, the story is a thrill-ride of shocking twists and revelations.
  • Max Payne's signature slow motion gunplay has been improved on every level. Get ready for Bullet Time 2.0.
  • New guns and new moves make action more cinematic and intense than ever before.
  • Fully integrated Havok physics engine allows for interactive environments creating incredible combat scenes. Ragdoll characters and physics in slow motion create breath-taking combat scenes.
  • All new AI - cooperative NPC's fight with Max and more believable enemies create tension and more interesting and varied challenge.
  • A stunning level of detail: Extremely detailed environments with photorealistic textures, highly enhanced radiosity lighting and extremely lifelike characters (including facial animations & lip synchronization) provide a visually staggering cinematic experience.
  • Massive production values - including a motion picture stunt crew, professional talent for voice acting and graphic novels, motion capture and authentic digital source material from New York City.

Top 100 DVD Reviewer

By today's standards, this computer game is quite dated. However at the time of it's release, Max Payne 2 was a ground-breaking game in terms of gameplay, graphics and overall 'film' style. The comic book cut-scenes are very stylish and well done. Although a few years old now, the game still holds up under scrutiny. Max Payne 2 is definitely a great game to play. If you want a game that makes you feel like you're in a Hollywood action film then this is the one for you. Well worth a fiver. Give it a try if you're after a decent game but aren't too fussed on how 'modern' it is.

 Boring

The only thing that I can say about this game is that I didn't like it! Yes, it has very good graphic, sound and so on, but when it comes on playability...well I don't like very much games were you continuosly have to quick save, reload, re-save, load again and again...it gets boring and the game itself gets boring because it's all the same again and again.
Other than that, the game is very, very short (but I must admit that it was a relief for me).

Great Game But Only With Mods

This game improves on some of the core gameplay the bullet time has been implemented and some of the graphics are better more clearer but the story isnt as suck yourself in as max payne 1 and the gun sounds arent as good still a good game but not worth it as much as 1. Now there is a modification you can download for this game called max payne cinema 2.0. You get better gun sounds better weapons and bullet time i recommend this mod to everyone who has this game you will get a well better experience than the original game.

Not as good as the first but still good nonetheless!

The sequel to the fantastic first Max Payne game is great. The story still one of the best you could find in any game imo and the gameplay is unchanged but it's still great nonetheless. The graphics has improved from the last game and the bullet time is still here. Not as good as the first gameplay & story wise but it's still an ace game that shouldn't be avoided.

Not as good but still brilliant

This game is still just as much fun as the last. Though you can agree there is little development in gameplay. The game is still fantastic with a deeper story line, new weapons, better graphics and lots of gimics, like the guards playing piano, that can keep you entertained. Also without ruining anything finishing the game on the hardest difficulty will show the real ending!
Like being in a movie, diving a round in bullet time with a realistic feel, scenery blowing up around you and a quality story telling method in the comic style what more could you ask...
