A Game Of Thrones: Genesis is the video game adaptation of George R.R. Martin's best-seller series of novels A Song of Ice and Fire. In this strategy game developed by Cyanide Studio, your political prowess will be as important as your strategic and military skills!

Thanks to a well-developed single player campaign written under supervision of the author, "A Game of Thrones - Genesis" immerses you into the heart of the battles and intrigues between the Houses that shaped the Kingdom of Westeros.

From Nymeria's arrival in the Kingdom of Dorne to the awakening of the "Others" beyond the Wall, you'll live the origins of the A Song of Ice and Fire saga through more than 1000 years of history. From year -750 to year 299, you will take part in Westeros' founding events and largest battles, such as Aegon the Conqueror's invasion of the continent or the War of the Usurper.

A Game Of Thrones: Genesis is also a great multiplayer game. Up to 8 players confront each others to claim the Iron Throne in intense games where alliances, betrayals, cheap shots, and pitched battles take place!
  • True to the universe of the saga: The single player campaign, written under the supervision of George R. R. Martin, lets you discover the origins of the story and take part in Westeros' founding events and largest battles such as Aegon the Conqueror's invasion on the continent or the War of the Usurper.
  • Strategy at the heart: Use your strategic sense to get to victory through military, diplomatic or economical tactics: besiege your opponents, strangle them in an economical war, or even use dirty tricks and diplomacy to politically crush them. Treachery and deception are everywhere, so watch your back and prepare for battle!
  • A great multiplayer mode: Up to 8 players confront each other to claim the Iron ¬ Throne in intense games where alliances, betrayals, cheap shots, and pitched battles take place.

Would have been okay if made 10 years ago

I am a really big Game Of Thrones fan and hoped that this game would have done the book justice. The bad news is it is rubbish. The graphics are bad and so is the game play. It is almost like Lord of the Rings the battle for middle earth but much worse (don't get me wrong I enjoyed the lord of the rings game but that came out a few years ago now). I would have liked to see someone like the Total War franchise get there hands on the rights to this game and then they would have done the books justice. My advise is don't buy this game at all! You want a good strategy game get anything from the Total War franchise.

 Does the books shame.

I love game of thrones, I love the books, and I love the series on HBO, very well done and so unique compared to other fantasy novels. But the game is a let down.

Now normally I take reviews as advice but they don't alter my decision on whether or not to buy it, and considering this was very cheap in the sale I thought why not but this is a very poorly made game as I found out while playing. Basically they have tried to put in new mechanics for an RTS that follows the story which includes almost as much subterfuge and betrayal etc as fighting. But this was done poorly in the game, you will find troops almost useless.

The gameplay itself is very buggy and conflicting. The campaign consists of strange tasks for an RTS, such as moving a single unit through a town to be undetected by patrols and running around the map looking for a unit hidden randomly in the fog of war. So its boring and has little plot to it, lots and lots of spelling mistakes and dodgy grammar will be found in the windowed text, a very boring communication system over all, no surprise or interest can be gotten from the text which are almost always before and after the mission. The appearance of the game is ok, nothing special but actual unit models are terrible, you have a stiff horseman slide around on the spot and in combat its just a load of unit standing with each other until one side dies and then a good amount of dead units will bug out and remain standing.

There arnt really any pro's to this game, I tried online with a friend but found its just a kind of tug of war between corrupting towns and villages. until one of us makes a mistake and the other gets a step ahead.

Its a shame the game is of such a bad quality as I would have loved to play a total war or AOE style game set in the game of thrones world.

 very poor game

so boring. little or no strategy involved. you spend so much time clicking your spies and envoy from one town to the next with no real thought needed. waste of money. get any of the total war games instead or stronghold

 Unbelievable!!!

This game is an absolute star. From the first click of my mouse to the last click, it kept me on the edge of my seat. The battle scenes are outrageously good and the storyline is fantastic.

In my opinion, this game is better than Skyrim, Oblivion, Fable 1, 2, 3, Final Fantasy 6, 7, 8, Unchartered 1, 2, 3 and the Assassins Creed games.

At this price, everyone in the Universer should get it. In fact, get two copies.
