IL2 Sturmovik: 1946

This is the final expansion of this superb series of games and is EVERYTHING you need to play online. Once you have installed this all you need is the 4.08 patch and you are set to play online with the rest of the community.
I have been playing this series since 2004 so I know what I am saying when I tell you it is the best - how many other games out there have been played since 2001 and are still going very strong such as this title? Not many I would say, which speaks for itself as to the quality of this game.
Literally hundreds of flyable aircraft, great maps, campaigns, single missions etc. and this does not included the community content of custom aircraft skins, custom made campaigns, movies and so on.

If you are seriously looking to get into combat flight simming this should be your first and only choice - it IS that good.

This game really finishes off the series of IL2 sims! The graphics are very good and usually more than you would expect.

The aircraft are so varied you will have hours of enjoyment before even really getting into the game properly and online support is just as good with intense multiplayer action.

Just one note: THIS GAME IS NOT VISTA COMPATIBLE AS YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO RUN IT!!!!!!! UBISOFT WILL NOT GIVE YOU ANY SUPPORT WITH THIS PROBLEM

You want action, thrills, spills and historical realism its all here in this one box, you like spitfires its got ten of em,
you can make it as realistic or easy as you like limited ammo, fuel etc, take off and landing, go dive bombing in a stuka strafe Japanese shipping in a mustang. Devoloped by Oleg madox based in Russia the earlier games did lean torwards the eastern front, but there is so much depth to this it is amazing I strongly recomend this
you wont be disappointed

I play this game occasionally, and its stunning really. So I hear you ask "then why do you only occaisionally play it?".

Here is the answer: online gameplay. Many would argue its "super" and "still alive". However, I wanted a more original online play, like Forgotten Battles, as most servers on at the moment, use only 12 types of aircraft...this is really annoying considering the range in the game...

However - its Vista compatible (yay!) and still has AMAZING graphics and SUPERIOR flying compared to any game on the market - dare I say even FSX?

Avoid if : You wanted Jet vs Propellor combat online

This game provides what I think is the most realistic of all the plane games, including such as the "Ace Combat" series. The realism of the planes is amazing. The graphics are good and it probably has over a hundred different levels. It's also Vista compatible, so all you nerds out there - don't worry. This game should really be played with a joystick, but it is just as fun when played on a keyboard. If you are not a WWII fan, don't be put off by the old style planes because they are just as good and fun as the modern aircraft. Considering that it's a really good game, it's price is very good. You should get it.
