Microsoft Xbox 360 Crossfire Wireless Gaming Receiver for Windows - White

I got this so I could use my 360 controller on the PC when i'm developing but in order to do that, everytime I want to use the controller on the console again, I have to re-sync it to the console.

This is quite annoying as when you pair the controller to the receiver, it unpairs with the console. Also, holding the guide button won't turn off the button. I have to unplug the battery pack.

Unless you have a spare controller you don't use all the time, it won't be so bad but I just have one controller and it's a bit of a pain swapping between.

I'm buying a wired xbox controller for pc instead, too much hassle.

Don't let me put you off, this is a great device if you don't use your main xbox pad with it.

Very Good, Easy to use, and the basic software makes it more easier to use. If you got the wireless headset I would recommend getting it as you can use it on your xbox 360 and then your pc to chat on msn, etc...

I have had this for a couple of days now and it is spot on.

You need at least XP with service pack 2 to run the software, which can also be downloaded from Microsoft. Once you have this software running the PC will detect any Xbox 360 controller if the are the wired kind.

Once that is done just plug this in, press the scan button on top and press the scan button on the front of your wireless and a couple of seconds latter the lights on both units stop flashing and it's done.

The Xbox 360 controller is great with Gears of War, see my Gears review. I have it working on FEAR also, but you do have to set up the buttons on FEAR, I assume on other games also. Games like GEARS are written with the 360 controller already mapped out.

One final note.

They do not work through a USB hub. They have to be connected directly, same with the wired controller.

Great idea for the gamer. Buy it.

This will make it so much easier for those of us who own a console and a pc.
But still pferfer there console to keep everything non wired, for minimum annoyance.
One of the things this will be especially good for will be playing gears of war online. it wont have anywhere near as much lag on multiplayer, but it will be very hard to play unless you can use your old xbxo 360 wireless controller. =)
A reasonable price for something thas compatable with alot of things.

Just a suggestion, search XPadder on Google and use that to configure your 360 pad. It works like a charm!
