Review

Driver: Parallel Lines follows the story of a young New York driver, TK, who makes his living driving gangsters, pimps, criminals, and lowlifes in and out of trouble, using his driving skills and street smarts to make money and live the good life of sex, fast cars and drugs.

The year is 1978, TK plans to start a cocaine empire of his own but things don't pan out quite as well as planned, he gets locked up for 28 years. This fast-forwards the story to present day Manhattan where TK is set free, with one thing on his mind - revenge!

Quite acceptable until that comes along in a year or until and unless The Wheelman proves any good. After the miserable Driv3r this is a great improvement. Car handling is decent, the game supports a variety of controllers and mouselook for the on foot sections and the graphics are decent even though they are only Shader Model 2. Missions and extra tasks are all playable with no stupidly hard parts, customisable cars add fun and at this price its value for money. The only down side is the traffic that crawls along preventing you getting up to a good speed

A game with great sound and soundtracks, the graphics are pretty good but the playability a bit difficult. Winning races is difficult thing even and at easy mode. The police in a race chases only you and not the others, so you have to worry except from winning and escaping from the police. The driving and the handling of the car is a bit difficult even with a game pad controller. The game I thing is better played on a wide screen monitor. Over all is a good choice if you like fast driving and shooting.
