Mercenaries 2: World in Flames is an explosive open-world action game set in a massive, highly reactive, war-torn world.

When a power-hungry tyrant messes with Venezuela's oil supply he sparks an invasion that turns the country into a warzone. But for you, international crisis is all upside: you are a mercenary, and you profit from chaos. Mercenaries 2 features a slew of potential clients, all willing to pay you to do their dirty work. These are world powers with deep pockets, deep grudges, and enough arms and ammo to start World War III. This is your kind of environment.

Mercenaries 2 features the latest and most dangerous in civilian and military tech, everything from shiny new sports cars, to the future-tech satellite-guided bunker-busting mini-nuke. Tanks, APCs, boats, luxury automobiles - you name it, you can have it delivered to you in real-time. And if you run out of cash you can always 'acquire' the gear you need in the field.

If you see it, you can buy it, steal it, or blow the living crap out of it. Play your own way, or play with the help of a friend in the new co-op multiplayer mode.

You are not a soldier. You don't have to play by anyone's rules. You have your own code: you will fulfill the terms of the contract, no matter what. Not everyone in the world of Mercenaries is as honorable. Everyone will try and screw you, given the chance. They think they can get away with it, but they don't know rule #1 for mercenaries: everyone pays!

Work for the Highest Bidder: You decide which factions to work for and when. From one-off pick-up jobs to complex multi-objective missions your choices will decide how the game progresses and which faction wins the war.

New Toys: Over 130 vehicles from civilian cars to tanks and choppers plus all the destructive weaponry you can handle from pistols to rocket launchers.

Next Gen Destruction: Take down any building in the world piece by piece and see them crumble with fantastic effects. Not just cool to look at, destruction can be used to take out enemy forces and change the landscape of the battlefield.

Massive Open World: Play across cities, jungles, lakes, mountains and a range of terrain in between throughout a Venezuela that is larger than all the Mercenaries maps combined.

Online Co-op Multiplayer: You no longer have to go it alone. Invite a friend to jump in and help you fight your way to the top.

I bought this game for £10 and now feel that money was wasted. Vehicle control on this game is, by far, the worst I have EVER seen. Simply turning a corner in a civilian car is like trying to turn a lorry. Aiming on this is next to impossible, due to stupidly high mouse sensitivity, even when turned down to practially minimum. Missions feel all the same, but those that are different are frustratingly hard. Hijacking is probably the most difficult thing on this game, due to the game not picking up key strokes, forcing you to spend about an hour hijacking a tank (Second mission). If you like the look of this game, buy the original Mercenaries, which is far superior.

Better Than The First But Still Not Great

The game impressed me...compared to the first game.
It can be very fun, especially when you have a few friends round. But playing by yourself the game can get very boring very quickly. The game is so repetitive, easy and not a lot to it.
Cash is easy come. Blow up a building and there basically handing you enough to be settled for life.
But i suppose if you liked the first one, you should get this one, better than the first but i'm still not a fan.

Pre-ordered before i looked into it, doesn't have proper widescreen settings, looks quite bad and runs not so well on my core 2 3gz, 2gb of ram and an ati 4870, ok for a tenner maybe.

After playing the first installment on ps2 i was looking foreward to this... And what a dissapointment, bugs, terrible gameplay, and for some reason when you aim it seems to be less accurate than firing normally, this is a small list of the problems with the game.

Soon will be worth this score

Ok so there is alot of bad reviews and talk about this game, so i'll quickly go over it all

graphics: Average, nothing amazing, butt not that bad, great explosions but remember free roam game so generally it's bound to have low quality scenery

gameplay: If you base a game purely on graphics, your 1. Very close minded and 2. Could just get a painting or something if that all your intrested in. The gameplay in this is very similar to the older game. Fun Missions (although not as many as I'd of liked), lots of side missions and room to just generally mess around.
This game is all about having fun instead of realism. For example you can jump out of helicopters and not die (from highest ponit in the game lol)

I'm bored of writing this now so i'll sum it up, If you liked the first one you'll love this one. Having said that... this game is absouletly PLAGUED with bugs so:

        Get on pc

        Wait for Patch
