In the cold, harsh northlands...

The Lich King Arthas has set in motion events that could lead to the extinction of all life on Azeroth. With the armies of the undead and the necromantic power of the plague threatening to sweep across the land, only the mightiest heroes can oppose the Lich King's will and end his reign of terror for all time.

Blizzard Entertainment's latest expansion to World of Warcraft - Wrath of the Lich King - adds a host of epic content to the existing game world. Players will achieve soaring levels of power, explore a vast new continent, and battle other high-level heroes to determine the fate of Azeroth.

Requires World of Warcraft and The Burning Crusade to play

  • Master the necromantic powers of the Death Knight - World of Warcraft's first Hero class.
  • Quest to level 80, gaining potent new abilities and talents along the way.
  • Learn the craft of spell augmentation with the new Inscription profession.
  • Brave the harsh new continent of Northrend, the icy domain of the Lich King.
  • Engage in epic siege warfare, deploying mighty siege engines to lay waste to destructible buildings in your path.
  • Transform your hero's look with new character-customization options, including new hairstyles and dances.
  • Explore perilous new dungeons filled with some of the deadliest creatures - and greatest treasures - on Azeroth.
  • And much, much more...

The same as before and nothing really added

Oh dear, this had such promise. Another grindy, initially interesting add on which becomes a massive waste after a few level ups.

If you are new to wow and have no social life then get the whole deal, you will enjoy it - at first. Then after a while it rapidly deteriorates into a "kill this, kill that, go there, kill this, kill that, go there" cycle. If you enjoy mindless tedium then play on.

If new to the wow series be aware that even on a high spec pc you may spend several hours installing all the software / patches etc. To be brutally honest - its not worth all the installation times.

Ok Good game but one thing...

The overall game is great, but in the end it kills your life. Its the same as BC all over again but 10 new levels. Pvp and quests are the same, just differfent skins for other bosses and such. In the end i think blizzard ruin the game by adding this and to be honest. Play it as a hobby, dont let it take over your life.

Never played endgame before, reached lvl 80 and thought "hang on...now ive got too start over doing the same old rubbish just too grind better gear...but without the reward of lvling..."

    So I deleted my account.

    The End!

     Good but lacking something

I purchased WotLK on release day and initially loved it. The new island is great and death knight makes a nice change and it was great to do dungeons without knowing exactly what would happen. However as I played for the next couple of days I started to loose interest quickly, and I think this may be because it was just too easy. My characters weren't amazing, but did wear full lvl 70 kara / ZA epics and nothing seemed to be very challenging (I have warrior / druid / priest). I haven't played right through to lvl 80 (stopped with my druid at 77) but my guild friends tell me that even lvl 80 heroics aren't difficult. I always felt that WoW was a nice easy alternative to some of the more serious mmo games (I play EVE too and that certainly can get very tense!) but this latest expansion seems to be very much aimed at kids who just want to win and aren't fussed about the challenge of getting there. However, it is still a well made, visually brillant game that is certainly fun for a while, just not as long as I had hoped.

     More of the same

Lets calll a spade a spade shall we. Its nothing special . Its exatly what you expect and nothing more. If you've played wow 1-70 and not quit you'll like it. If you got to 70 and quit because raiding is boring and repetative then you'll get to 80 and quit again.
