Four years have passed since the aftermath of Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos, and a great tension now smolders throughout the ravaged world of Azeroth. As the battle-worn races begin to rebuild their shattered kingdoms, new threats, both ancient and ominous, arise to plague the world once again.

World of Warcraft is an online role-playing experience set in the award-winning Warcraft universe. Players assume the roles of Warcraft heroes as they explore, adventure, and quest across a vast world. Being "Massively Multiplayer," World of Warcraft allows thousands of players to interact within the same world. Whether adventuring together or fighting against each other in epic battles, players will form friendships, forge alliances, and compete with enemies for power and glory.

A dedicated live team will create a constant stream of new adventures to undertake, lands to explore, and monsters to vanquish. This content ensures that the game will never be the same from month to month, and will continue to offer new challenges and adventures for years to come.

The Burning Crusade Expansion Pack: World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade takes up where World of Warcraft left off, with the races of the Horde and the Alliance continuing to rebuild their lives among the shattered lands of Azeroth. Amid the fragile peace that exists between the factions come rumors that the Burning Legion's age-old war against Azeroth - the so-called Burning Crusade - has been rekindled and threatens to consume the world in another firestorm of war and strife. Old allegiances fall and new ones rise as both the Horde and Alliance look to new friends in this time of need. Building on the award-winning formula set forth in World of Warcraft, the expansion set adds even more rich content to an already massive game.

Please Note! This game requires an online monthly fee.

Battle Chest includes:

  • World of Warcraft
  • The Burning Crusade (Expansion Pack)
  • World of Warcraft Strategy Guide
  • The Burning Crusade Strategy Guide

The best deal I have ever seen!!!

If you dont have any of the above items, this has to be the best deal in the whole world!
The two books alone are worth about £20, and you get the original WOW and the expansion.
Well done "play.com"....keep up the good work!

The best game for the best price...

There is so much to say about WOW that i doubt i would ever be able to fit it all in the review.

When you first play the game, if, like me, you are not used to MMPORG's you will find it a strange game to play, and somewhat confusing. But if, like me, you bare with it you will find it is quite possibly the best game you will ever play.

Its a strong boast, but its true. I should warn you now that if you do have a social life, expect that to go downhill somewhat. Also, i have known this game to break couples up (luckily my girlfriend is very understanding).

Yes, you do pay monthly (or buy gaming cards) but it is not expencive. You do however get your first 10 days free, to see if your going to like it or not. To be honest you need to be playing it for a few days just to get used to it, and after you, you will find that you are hooked.

I would reccomend that, should you be of older generation, you stick to the RP Realms. That is what i have done, you meet much more mature people and it makes for a much better play experience. Also being Role Playing realm, you can give you character its own personality, my char is has its own tradgic background, and its own reasons which drive it.

The reason this game is also so well worth the money is it never ends. ever. A game that goes on and on with no end? it makes most games look like mere Demo's.

You can do pretty much anything you want to do in this game. Different professions (such as jewel crafting, mining and blacksmithing) also there many different classes to play as, as well as races, also you can play Alliance or Horde (Horde all the way baby yeah!).

As i said there is not enough space in this review, or ever maybe the earth to explain the diversity of this game. It never ceases to amaze me.

The Battle Chest is well worth the money, considering you get both the game and the expansion and also the guide books, all for £18!? its something like £35 in the shops. So well worth the money.

The only other thing i should say is expect a plethera of updates and downloads before you get to play the game when you buy it. (im talking maybe 4 hours wait)

 Good value

World of Warcraft is a massive game and there is a vast amount of content to explore. The value of this package is astounding as you not only get the game and expansion but both of the guides which will be especially useful for newcomers. This game is most fun when played with your friends. You may find that you play this game for a very long time.

 More than just a game.

I haven't bought this, I've had both games for a very long time but there is things you NEED to know.
1) This game will sap away your life more than you'd believe, I don't recommend buying this if you have long work hours or need to study for education.
2) The customer support from Blizzard is incredibly bad. You'll end up having to re-install the game atleast once during your gametime with no help from them at all.
3) Although this varies, they're some incredible idiots on this game, if you want to play with mature and polite people, I recommend a Role-playing realm.
4) Don't get scammed by some morons who will try and take your stuff. If you have a friend who knows the game always ask for their advice on things you feel unsure about.
5) This is a VERY slow game. Unless you power-level or use walkthroughs it will take a while before you get to high levels.

I agree with the fact that is will take over your life only if you let it,but to experience the game fully you need to play the end-game raids.
That does require a great deal of commitment to the game and a guild, although i greatly enjoyed this game for 2 years from release i found that as soon as an expansion is released it soon becomes a waste of time.

Personally having spent well over a year of that time in repeated raids to build up my and many other peoples equipment it soon became apparent that you could quite easily pick up better equipment from a random encounter after the expansion. Therefore replacing something you worked so hard for and starting the process all over again.

Good for Blizzard but not good for me,maybe the new content just wasn't enough to balance out the time i felt i wasted.

Having said that i would give this 5 stars for the first 2 years i greatly enjoyed this game as it was alot of fun,but i just can't bring myself to do it.
