I was after something quick and easy to play whilst waiting for CM09 and in between WoW. Simple setup, quick starting, interesting for a while and certainly better than TV :)
If you want a more in depth game I suggest Football Manager 2009 or wait for Championship Manager 2009 which will have far more quality and playtime to them.

Premier manager offers a great alternative to the other very "geeky" football games. Less focussed on the intricacies of the tactics this game alows you to have fun building stadiums and making money. Far better than champ man 2009 or football manager 2009

guys, dont even consider buying this, you'd be better spending your 8/9 quid on magic beans. It is awful, graphics are terrible, gameplay is terrible, i mean last time i played this was the pm98 version and in honesty, this one has got alot worse. Buying players requires time, building things is no longer part of the fun, you cant tell what your players are generally rated. For being 09 as well its plaer ratings are poor as well, for instance carlos cuellers of rangers rated as a right back at 140,000. ridiculous
