Iron Man, an explosive third-person action shooter game that pits one of the world's most renowned Super Heroes against unspeakable odds, draws its story from the 2008 movie while also incorporating story elements from original Iron Man comic books. Using the advanced technology in Iron Man's suits of armour, gamers can take advantage of the wide array of high-impact weapons to strategically annihilate any enemy force standing in their way. Before tackling stunning and immense open battlefields, players can customise their armour suit as they encounter progressively more vicious enemies, and fight in epic battles that could challenge even the toughest Super Heroes.

A Devastating Weapon - Iron Man alone battles armies of fighter jets, military tanks, armoured Super Villains and more.

Power Control - Players will direct power to different parts of Iron Man's suit, creating a variety of unique attacks.

Chaotic Battlefields - Open-ended battlefields create adrenaline packed combat filled with unpredictable challenges.

Beyond The Movie - The game includes additional plotlines and characters from the Iron Man Comic Universe that are not featured in the movie.

Open World - Players have complete freedom to move anywhere in the environment and make seamless transitions between ground combat and open air flight.

Buying this type of game is something i would not normally do. Having one of the Marvel super heros i grew up with transformed from the pages of a comic book to big screen movie then into a game flashes all kinds of red lights. Considering some of the past attempts where developers have basically pimped less than worthy candidates ( i hated the hulk).
However this game promised so much more. What with the hype and great reviews of the movie, the pressure was on developers to produce nothing more than a perfect game tie in. Unfortuantely SEGA were not up to the task and have, in a nutshell failed.
The first problem encountered is the in game controls. The game does not hide the fact that this has been designed to be played on a consol, with a game pad (XBox 360 by the looks of things) But unfortunately you will find that if you do not have a XBox gamepad you wont be able to use any other pad as you can not change the gamepad layout..
Key controls although configurable does not give you the same kind of control you get with a pad.
Ingame play is not as cracked up as it ought to be. Switching between weapons is slow, which is the same when switching between the suits other functions. With one particular weapon, the Unibeam, can only be used while you are stationary but if you get hit by the enemy it stops charging (which it does before you can fire) and has to start all over again, which is a nusiance as you need to be pretty close to the enemy to deal any damage.
Ingame graphics are bad. Enemy just appear in front of you, and i mean literally. The images are all grainy/gritty and not what you would expect with todays engines.
I have got nearly half way through the game and it just gets worse, infact it has got to the point i will only pick it up as a last resort.
I would advise any marvel fans to stay well clear of this game as it will break your heart. However if you do decide to take a chance i would wait a few weeks until it hits the bargin bin, that way you won't feel as though you have been robbed if you by it at full price.
