In Aliens: Colonial Marines, players are part of a United States Colonial Marine squad and must prepare to face an alien assault more intense and horrific than ever before. Driven by a compelling and original story penned by renowned writers Bradley Thompson and David Weddle, Aliens: Colonial Marines will retain the atmospheric look and feel of the original films while leveraging next-generation technology to create an entirely new interactive Aliens experience.

Packing classic Aliens weaponry ranging from pulse rifles to flamethrowers as well as brand-new equipment and skills all within a squad-based combat system, players will become an elite United States Colonial Marine. Featuring claustrophobic environments, a brooding soundtrack, and a multitude of surprises and shocks, players will battle against menacing alien hordes in strikingly detailed levels that include the stark interiors of the abandoned Sulaco and unique environments created specifically for the game.

Aliens: Colonial Marines will feature a story driven single-player mode and an all-new four player co-op mode allowing players to share the chilling experience with three friends. In co-op mode, each player will assume the persona of a Colonial Marine and have a distinct role to play in the completion of every mission. Additionally, more multiplayer modes will be revealed later in the year that will complete the Aliens video game experience.

Storyline:
Aliens: Colonial Marines begins with an ostensibly abandoned ship, the U.S.S. Sulaco, recovered in orbit around LV-426. Players lead a group of highly trained United States Colonial Marines as they board the deserted craft to uncover the fate of the crew. They will have to fight to survive unspeakable horrors and their own anxieties as they chase down the truth behind a galaxy-spanning deception that places humanity at the mercy of the most murderous and deadly species in the universe. Aliens: Colonial Marines features authentic environments, such as the surface of LV-426 and Hadley's Hope, weapons inspired by the film series and is designed to provide an exhilarating and engaging new chapter in the Aliens universe.

Look i have Alein v Predetor and that is a great game.
Aliens: Colonial Marines well to the players that have put it down in the reviews what do you want Aliens coming out of the screen, Every Game will not be perfect.
The game has a story line which follows on from 2nd film but has the licence to go were it wants to go, it mixes it up for the player between fighting other humans as well as Aliens, you dont know who you fighting at any corner which is good it mixies it. The Graphics is good.
i have tried the multi player and yes its differant but you get used to it and when you do you will enjoy it more.
so overall while its not perfect, i will say its entertaining and thats what keeps you playing it. Everyone has differant opinion which is fine.
To anyone thats not so sure to buy it well ask yourself
1. you like shooter games ?
2. Not worried to have Games 100% perfection ?
If it a yes to both then get it, if you looking for a entertaining game, well you wont be disapionted unless your a prefectionest which there is not a game out there that is that good.

 damned good game...

been waiting for this game for ages, and although as in most games based on movies they make the usual "I'm going to rewrite the entire story" which to fans of teh movies is downright blasphemy...
but this takes a different route, the game is set after the events in Aliens (2) and in a way plays like a sequel rather than a game con version....
I admit there could be more but on saying that from what i have played so far it is a damned fine game and worthy of being in the top charts...

I will suggest though if you want a Call of Duty game with aliens, THIS WILL Disappoint... but if u want a game that is true to the Alien(s) universe, with great story easy to pick up and will make you jump time and again... you will want to play this...

recommending it for being a good game would be an understatement... you don't play this game you survive it...

 Fail

Not an epic fail, but still a fail.

I enjoyed the single player, I love the franchise so that was a big bonus, but this game had so much potential.

The majority of the game you fight humans, which make it like a really terrible call of duty style game. The AI is terrible, the storyline is weak.

Thing is, I had a feeling this game wasnt going to be very good, and indeed it wasnt. But I though it was going to be truely pants, but it was just a touch above that.

 Game over man.

*WARNING CONTAINS SPOILERS*

The game looked very promising in Gearbox's demonstration of the game shown in 2011 but that is not even in this game. The games ultimate downfall came from the many different studios that took part in making this game, although it has been in production for six years the game is rushed as the other studios destroyed it so Gearbox had to do last minute changes to the game.

The biggest problem is the bone idle A.I. The Aliens are not scary at all, you can run past them in most missions without them giving a care in the world, your A.I team mates do nothing to help you in fact they more often than not hinder your progress through a mission and the fact that you are fighting Weyland Yutani private military through most of it is annoying and disappointing.

On a brighter note the sounds are nailed perfectly, they really immerse you in the game, the environments and lighting are top notch. Without a doubt the best mission is Raven (You'll have to play the game to find out why).

And so we come to the reason i give this game four stars, the multiplayer. the multiplayer saves this game in my opinion, it is fun, scary and tense and with no A.I to get in your way it makes the game enjoyable, game modes like Escape and Survival are what makes and Aliens game, Marines having to hold up, weld doors, place turrets to survive facing endless swarms of player controlled Aliens, it's good bug killing fun, with friends the multiplayer is very enjoyable and every game is different. The teams are balanced really well and you really have to rely on your motion tracker to survive. You know the saying lone wolves die young? well yep that's exactly what happens.

I would recommend this game just for the multiplayer, but definitely get the game for PC if you can run it because the console versions are dramatically worse in terms of visuals and crashes, screen tears etc.

There's something moving and it ain't the AI

I got this thinking it would be the ultimate aliens experience but unfortunately it ain't. Graphically it is not to bad in places and i do state PLACES!. The sound is excellently done most of the time and does sound like a genuine aliens movie hybrid, but the thing that lets this down the most is the alien AI in the campaign is just to poor, sometimes they just seem to pause infront of you when your reloading or other unexplainable things happen it just does not run well enough. Overall i am much disappointed in this as i was looking forward to it so much, as many have said it is funny how the reviews were held back for this until release day so i shall definately learn not to buy a game again on release until i have seen the reviews hit the internet.
