I bought this game with expectations, which isn't normally something I do but it had an interesting premise and I was rather looking forward to it. I thought it might be another Still Life, which I'd enjoyed quite a bit. Unfortunately, it fell short of my expectations.

It starts out pretty well, if a little rushed, but then it seems as though the story can't quite decide what it wants to be. This sense of confusion is aided by the sometimes odd dialogue and the iffy voice acting. Don't get me wrong, I've come across a lot worse but it does let the game, as a whole, down.

The puzzle elements within the game are basic and not challenging in the slightest. This can be seen as a plus to those who are frustrated at illogical and overly-difficult puzzles in this genre but I think most of us thrive for a challenge when it comes to our gaming.

As for characterisation... actually, this wasn't too badly handled. The only thing that stands out here is that the protagonist behaves a little oddly at times. By this, I mean some of her monologues. She often makes jokes that seem misplaced and I found myself wondering if she wasn't ingesting some of the stuff in the FBI's evidence storage.

The length of the game is fairly average for this genre though it's quite easy to steamroller your way through its entirety in a day if you don't get stuck at any point. I did feel as though the plot was a little rushed at the end too and the final cut scene was pretty disappointing. I won't go into it any further as I don't want to spoil it for anyone else.

As for the visuals, all the backgrounds were very nicely rendered and I can't complain where it comes to the graphics. The characters were well animated, though you don't really get to see them that close-up, apart from in the cut scenes. The actual cut scenes could get a little choppy from time to time though and I think quite a few people have had this problem. And this is on a good machine built with gaming in mind.

Don't let me put you off though, this isn't a bad purchase for this price and it's yet another new adventure release, so I can't gripe too much. It should keep you amused for one day anyway.
