Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2

Its been around for ages but Red Alert 2 is worth playing.

The story is excellent as you take on the soviets.

Sure it looks dated but the gameplay is brilliant.

Build you base. Your defenses (Taser coils are ace) your army and destroy the enemy.

The ability to play single player battles outside of campaign mode is excellent and you can also play the computers AI on maps that you create.

RTS fan - A must and a £5 a bargain

This is the best C&C game ever.
I would recommend buying the expansion pack for loads more fun.
Compared to AOE this game is much more about attacking than defending and is much more fun.

When i bought this game, i expected it to be pretty poor, as the game was created in 2000, seven years ago. I expected the graphics to be dire and the gameplay to be basic. The only thing which made me want to buy it was the price. Despite this, the game turned out fantastic! The graphics were pretty good based on the fact the game is sevn years old, the gameplay is sooo addictive! Really you canot go wrong with this! Loads of missions. weaponry etc, the only thing i can reccomend is the Yuri's Revenge expansion pack, which makes it even better.

This is probably the best of the Command and conquer series. You can play as either allied or soviet, and there are tons of build/play options for each. I am still playing this 7 years after its release, its one of those games that you can get immersed in for hours. For me the only other game that comes close is Starcraft!
