Had to add a review, as I completely disagree with the previous review here. Ten Foot barge pole seems a little harsh, and would put many people off!!

It is a very good game in my opinion of course, and at 9.99 you just can't go wrong! It's available from Starport direct at 40 dollars!! Plenty of depth to this game, from micro management to macro management, I've heard one guy spent a full 28 days playing this game, on GIGANTIC setting !

I bought the game looking for an improvement of the first game, which was really rather good. Unfortunately the designers of the sequel have decided to build a game which is dull, lacking in depth, unattractive and unwieldy. I you happen to have a 10 foot barge pole then I wouldn't bother, there is much more fun to be had with a large pole than this disappointing slap in the face for people that liked the first one. May I recommend the excellent Sword of the Stars as an alternative, this bucket of boring dish water is a waste of time.

The 1* review seems unduly harsh. The game is a big under taking and you will take some time to get used to the Menus / best way of expanding your civ but when its in full swing its a great game. Can be computationally draining on the processor if your PC isn't top spec and that can make the late stages of the game extremely slow but in general its a great game and worth the asking price.

A very good turn based strategy game. Highly recommended if you're a fan of the old civilization games or space strategy games. Plenty of depth and options from diplomacy and conquest, to winning via culture or technology. It even allows you to design your own ships.
