After his battalion is stranded behind enemy lines, Bukner is trapped in a mysterious trench where all is not as it seems. Dead soldiers are coming back to life with a lust for human flesh, a mad German scientist has created a giant robotic scorpion and an ancient war between vampires and demons is threatening to wipe out humanity. How do you condem a game that comes to youj with a good game concept but bad everyting else?
This is the the type of game i buy when i am either bored or see a concept that looks promising which is why i bought it. The games story sounded pretty good, you are a yank in the first world war, stuck in the trenches in France, and as we all know through history the trenches were hell in there own right even without being gased, bomed or shot at.
The opening scene has you awakening inside a barn saved from a gas attach buy a mad english man (of course). Yoiu eventually leave the comfort of th barn and make your way back into the trenches to come face to face not only with the German army, but mad Germans who have been driven insane by things you only find in nightmares and it's not long before you encounter these horrors leaving you not only fighting the Germans but the undead as well. And it's from here the story starts to unfold sweeping you along with it, only you may be unable to do this without keeping a straight face, and that's the main problem of the game.

The dialog is absolutely terrible what with the allied (English) soldiers accents being really really bad and an American accent being worse. As for the Germans well enough said about that the better. Now the story line itself is not bad but this is let down buy the 1999 graphics look. In a time when the games industry are continuing to take leaps and bounds when it comes to the actual physics and graphics of a game to make them look more pleaseing to the eye Necrovision has taken a hugh step backwards and that is the biggest let down. It's a shame that an FPS game with an original storyline (not many WWI games out there) is let down by the dialog and look.
Would i buy the game knpwing what i know now probably but only once it had reached the bargin bin

Vampires, Zombies, WW1, Big Guns and fun fun fun

What more do you need.
Set in a WW1 bunker you start off in a straight WW1 shooter, but as the battle pushes you deeper underground the enemy start to become a little more, er decayed!
Necrovision does not pretend to be modern, all things to all men, game, it just does what it says on the tin and will give you many hours of pure - if slightly brainless - fun.
Highly recommended.
Check out the other release from the same company, Cryostasis, too. Very different game within horror genre.
The two make a great set.

 Crashing World War 1 Painkiller

Don't get me wrong I love all the Painkiller games, they are superb, but this is very old school, and crashes your PC for England. Wait until they get a patch which fixes this, the one they have at the moment 1.1 only speeds up the loading, save your money for now

 A frustrating game

| | See all Rexton's reviews (3)

Not what i expected, i really am trying to like this game but it infuriates me at every turn, the first thing that got my attention was the (movement), i found that every time i moved i would be tripping/stuck over something or having something block my path when all you want to do is get through the door! very frustrating when taking cover behind a box or wall just to have a tin can push or wobble you out of cover! (tip) don't fight in a door way as you will be spending 10mins kicking the dead bodys out of the way. jumping up stairs is another one, not out of fun but becouse you can not run up them.

(shooting) i can understand zombies taking 4 or 5 shots to kill or having to de-cap them but live humans surviving not only 1 shot but 3 or sometimes 4 shots to the chest, you kill zombies with less bullets. it is a headshot game shoot anywhere else and expect to run out of ammo becouse enemy troops wont die.

(Character) the main character is a cheesy take off painkiller.

apart from these really bad bits (especially the movement) the game is pretty fun to play, graphics are good and so is the sound very grusome in some areas.

but i can only give it a 2 star

 A great oldschool game

| | See all BlackSt0rm's reviews (1)

With its original atmosphere, mixing ww1 and hell, and its "oldschool remixed" gameplay, this game is a good choice for people who are searching for a violent and oldschool fps.

With lots of ennemis, a huge number of weapons and combos (the special feature of the game, which allows us to play with two one-handed weapons -Shovel, guns, grenades, Bayonet, knifes, gauntlet, etc- at the same time and make combos) and fun, NecroVisioN offers a very good overall experience for a small price.
