Review

In Resident Evil 4 players are reacquainted with Leon S. Kennedy, Raccoon City Police Department's idealistic rookie cop from Resident Evil 2. It has been six years since the destruction of Raccoon City and in that time, the U.S. government has been able to destroy the nefarious Umbrella Corporation. Fast forward to 2004 and players rejoin Leon, who is now a U.S. agent with a top-secret mission. He has been tasked to look into the abduction of the President's daughter and his investigation has led him to a mysterious location in Europe. As Leon encounters unimaginable horrors, he must find out who or what is behind everything.

My opinion of this version of the game, changed.
At first with all mods installed, I thought it was good. Until i realised, how awfully ported everything is. Seriously. Ever inch of this game seems copy + pasted onto a fresh template. Simply terrible.
Do not buy this if you have a Gamecube, Ps2 or Wii. Buy it for that, as they are all independent products.
This product puts the game to shame.
Do not think it can be ressurected through the patch, and modifications, because the truth is, it does simply not feel like resident evil.
Worst. Port. Ever.

First off, you need to download the patch and have a gamepad to play this game. Otherwise don't bother buying because it's unplayable in it's vanilla state and using keyboard controls. Graphically it's starting to show it's age and my other rant is that there really is no 'exit game' option. Other then these flaws which are easily overcome the game itself is nothing short of absolutely fantastic. The gameplay constantly evolves with new challanges, enemies and locations. Puzzles are well balanced (unlike those in previous RE games). The combat system is perfect, requiring skill but easy enough if your new to a game of this genre. The ability to upgrade and unlock new weapons means theres plently of replay value as well as the usual minigames and unlockable costumes. If you've never played this game it's worth checking out, if only as stop gap until Resi 5 is released!

its not a bad game, but if you havent got a joypad, you are stuffed. there are instances in the game where button instructions pop up on the screen (i.e when chased by a boulder). these instructions relate to which button on the joypad (they are numbered),not which button on the keyboard. the relevant buttons dont even match what button you would think it was. so its trial and error to get through. also, as one reviewer correctly pointed out, there is no quit function apart from task manager. i have looked, and there is no other way to quit.dont get this on pc.
