Tales of Valour is a basic expansion pack for the brilliant Company of Heroes series with three new missions and other assorted improvements, but essentially the same game as opposing fronts.
Online players will see the most improvement, some new units and maps, tweaked graphics and sound and an improved lobby with three new co-op missions as well as the usual matches.
Still the best real time war stratergy game out there, I was just hoping for something new, rather than just an add on pack that ToV is.
For people new to CoH I would advise looking at the previous games which can be bought very cheaply now
I'm a huge fan of coh, but my only concern is that relic bless em, have got a little bit side tracked on the western front. I'm sure i'm not alone in sayin BRING OUT THE EASTERN FRONT!!! We wanna see the russian, the african and the pacific theatres.
Put the western front to bed and start listening to all the fans out there that want, african, russian and pacific theatre. You can see how popular they are with the blitzkrieg mod.
I put it bluntly, this game only introduces about 10 new veichles.. thats a couple per team and yes play.com have lowered the price but even so its still abit too much.
The only real game development is the 2.50 patch which is included in this game when you buy it. But even so if you don't buy this game relic forcibly make u update to the current patch which is 2.60; so u get all the game types anyways without forking out 12 quid. And all the new patch does is balance the teams a bit better.
I remember when i bought the second one and they introduced the king tiger and the hetzers and the luftwaffe. I was hoping in this one they would have included a bigger tech tree. Stuff that i think is missing are things like; stukas and propper arty for the germans instead of the rockets. For the allies i was hoping for more crazy modifications to the shermans like bridge building shermans to cross rivers. For the british i was hoping to see proper commando snipers and reinforcement spitfires with rockets.
Come on relic, PULL YOUR FINGER OUT AND GET BACK THE WOW FACTOR WE ONCE HAD WHEN WE BOUGHT THE FIRST 2 GAMES!!
I dont understand why this game is so short, i was waiting for that long time but now i think I wast the time for that. But i still love COH and I waiting for the next part of this game. Mayby will be longer than Tales fo Valor. I hope so!!!
I love the company of heroes games, however this product is clearly a money spinner.
If you already own the pervious two company of heroes titles all you will get from this product is three campaigns; the first two consisting of 3 levels and the 3rd of 2, these levels are not particularly long. In addition to this there are 3 new online only game modes none of which are ground breaking and not particularly re-playable after a few rounds on each. There are also new vehicles that you swap with old ones before the battle starts, which is an interesting feature but doesn't justify the price tag.
In short if you do not already own a company of heroes title this is probably worth buying as you get all four armies with this one (the previous two titles come with only 2 each).
