R.U.S.E. is a one-of-a-kind real-time strategy game that allows players to bluff their enemies to lead their nation to victory, controlling the action using views that range seamlessly from the heart of the battlefield to the full theatre of war. Players will be plunged into the action thanks to the exclusive IRISZOOM Engine which offers an intuitive interface that allows for smooth, rapid transitions from a birds-eye view of the entire conflict, down into the heat of the battle and vice versa. In R.U.S.E., players use their brain as the ultimate weapon, fighting a war of perception, where the ability to deceive and mislead the enemy determines success. A first in a strategy game, R.U.S.E. reinvigorates the genre by using deception to give new-found depth to the gameplay.

Lies & deception from our French friends

Firstly, this is in no way a revolution for RTS, more like a step back. The fundemental selling points of this game are a big lie! The much touted IRISZOOM enegine billed as giving us maps "hundred times larger than in traditional RTS games" is just a lie. The biggest maps are tiny, right from the off you can see where you enemy's base is, this makes a mockery of the entire RUSE premise. What is the point of all the tactical Ruses when you only have a small scetor between you and your enemy? What is the point of a fake army when the is no room or flank to send them down. What is the point of fake bases when there is no extra space to put them down away from you actual base. What is the point? The controls are clumsy, you can't even get a tank to face the right direction, no halt command, very limited formations. The demo fails to inform the player that there is no LAN capability, and the demo map appears to be as big as any in the game, both pretty big negatives for a so-called RTS. In all wish I'd never spent my money.

This is the poorest offering to the RTS community in quite some time. The lie of map size is now evident, the maps are quite small and the scale of the game is small in comparison to a real rts game. I struggle to see how you can employ a good (ruse) if your base is only one or two sectors away from the enemy base.
This game has iris zoom which is stated to display maps one hundred times larger than traditional RTS. If this is the case then why do the maps feel so small, even the extra large maps are tiny.
I would also like to add that the coop maps dont work and there are only two maps for coop anyway.

The worst RTS game I've ever played!!! I hate this new concept they're trying to use for rts!! I'm oldschool baby and thats how I like it!!! My advice just don't buy it!!!

 This is RTS revolution!
