Killzone: Shadow Fall is the latest installment in the hugely successful Killzone franchise, developed exclusively for PlayStation 4, by Guerrilla Games. Thirty years after the events of Killzone 3, the world is a very different place, with two rival factions, the Helghast and the Vektans, living side by side divided by a vast wall. In the midst of it all stands a Shadow Marshal, an elite soldier, the best of the best. As Shadow Marshal Lucas Kellan, you're sworn to protect your home and the values you believe in. Maintaining the fragile peace is difficult when there is no trust between either side. A series of escalating conflicts puts you on the path of a Helghast intelligence operative named Echo, who fights for the same reasons but on the opposite side. Strive to uncover the whole story as the intense, immersive combat of the Killzone series is reborn on PS4.
  • Suitable for 18 years and over. Not for sale to persons under age 18. By purchasing this product, you declare that you are 18 years of age and over.
  • A New Breed of Hero For a New Vision of Killzone - You are Shadow Marshal Lucas Kellan, tasked with maintaining the fragile peace between the ISA and the Helghast. Any misstep could see the conflict spiral out of control, taking your homeworld with it.
  • Designed For The Next Generation of Gaming - With breathtaking scale and the new freedoms of tactical gameplay, Killzone: Shadow Fall is a true showcase for the impressive power of PS4. The redesigned DUALSHOCK 4 further enhances the experience with its refined controls.
  • An Expansive Arsenal of Futuristic Weapons - Command the OWL, Kellan's versatile, commandable combat drone that functions as an extension of you, dramatically augmenting your abilities and offering a host of new tactical options.
  • Tense, Realistic Cold War Sci-Fi - On a divided Vekta, one in which bitter enemies are forced to coexist, constant distrust threatens to escalate into all-out war. Discover an all new side to an ancient conflict.

Graphics Superb and a Great way to get to know your PS4. More of a show game than anything else, however it really is a definite purchase for new PS4 owners due to its fantastic visuals alone, never mind the now perfected killzone gameplay

 nothing special

I loved Killzone 3 so this was the game I was most excited for on PS4. I found this to be a big disappointment. The campaign felt monotonous and tiring, to the extent I didn't even bother finishing (I done 3/4) and the multiplayer was OK but didn't really wow me either. Graphically, I'd say this game is high end PS3, but not as good as the last of us or GTA5. rating this game in the middle because although it was inferior to KZ3 and didn't live up to expectations, it still did look pretty and play ok.

 Great in places

The first impression you get is that this isn't quite the KZ you are used to. The first level is awful. You are a kid following your Dad and have no control but to move. It is drawn out unnecessary and irrelevant. The next level - The Forest - doesn't look or feel very KZ and you get a bit wound up with using the companion that resembles Pantilaimon in the Phillip Pullman Dark Materials trilogy. After this level, you don't have to use it much which is great and on hard level, the sheild comes in handy.

It's not until about level 4 or 5, when you cross the wall, that the graphics start to look better on account of the improved art work and with it the game. There are still too many levels where your gun isn't required though.

I do recommend hard level as it is more tactical although when you play the massacre sections ie 100 or so enemies in one room, it gets overly tough.

The latest KZ on the Vita is better than this one I am afraid so if you have a choice I would go with that and hopefully the next KZ will get back on track.

Loved Killzone 2 and 3, poor multiplayer on this

I loved the Killzones on the ps3 so picked this up at launch and the multiplayer that I loved on its predecessors is shocking, they have changed it to be like Call of Duty but to be honest if thats what you want why, wouldnt you just buy Call of Duty? Great graphics and an average story mode hence two stars but should have been a whole lot better.

 Alright but not great

This game does truly show off next-gens potential, however the story is dry, predictable. Some scenes and missions are dragged out. But worst of all is possibly the worst ending in the world! Rent or borrow this game first!
