3 Better than the previous version carrying the same name, butGaryWebb | 13/12/2007 | See all GaryWebb's reviews (4)This seems to be a re-release of a previous cut of the game. I already had this game which carried the exact same title. This version however fixes some glitches and sorts some things that people hated. For example, it got quite annoying that the players were quite vocal following every hand, but with a list of sayings that were to say the least, repetitive. The players now keep their gobs shut! Also, my previous version would never to connect to the Internet for online playing. This version connects with no problems. That said, I have NEVER played online, as nobody else is ever online. I even tried starting my own online game and left it for hours waiting for someone to join to no avail. The games are good, although in career mode, you quite often have no holdem games to play, so are forced to play a different game such as crazy pineapple before you can proceed to the next week. If you only know holdem, you will have a steep learning curve as I did. The graphics are very good, BUT, pay little attention to the video clip that is against this item on this site. It is NOT of this game (or at least, not this version). It is similar, but it certainly is not this game. My biggest downer on this though is that it does crash quite often. I do plan to email the creators of this game to report this. I have seen this issue reported elsewhere on other sites too. When you are trying to finish in at least 14th place of a 100 player tournament, and after many hours of play find yourself in 20th place, and the game crashes, you WILL say some choice words out loud !! This has happened 4 times in a row now meaning I cannot proceed to the next level (week). All this said, I have just pre-ordered World Championship Poker 3 from Play. Hopefully, this one will work 100% otherwise a refund will be in order. Had I have known about the crashing issue on this game, I probably would not have bought it. However, it does still keep me entertained, and the games are challenging, so I have simply learned to live with it. Roll on version 3.
