Set in the weeks after "Resistance: Fall of Man," Resistance: Retribution follows the story of former British Marine James Grayson. After a personal tragedy - he is forced to kill his own brother inside a Chimeran conversion centre - Grayson goes on a vendetta to destroy every conversion centre he can find. Eventually Grayson learns that his efforts have been futile... in Western Europe the Chimera have evolved a new method of converting humans to aliens. The European resistance - the Maquis - enlist Grayson's help, and he joins Cartwright and Parker in Operation Overstrike. The war to retake the European continent has begun.

Game: A third-person action-adventure game created specifically for PSP that bridges "Resistance: Fall of Man" and "Resistance 2"

Storyline: Dramatic storyline set against the battle to retake the European continent, follows a single soldier's grim determination to avenge his fallen brother

Engine: Utilises Bend Studio's third generation PSP engine that allows for more enemies on screen, more detailed characters with higher resolution bitmaps and specular highlights, and a memory buffer system that allows for larger and more detailed worlds

Revolutionary Targeting System: Advanced third-person targeting system designed specifically for the PSP

Portability: Liberal checkpoint system makes the title ideal for small bursts of gameplay perfect for the on-the-go gamer

Weaponry: Weapons include favourites from "Resistance: Fall of Man" like the Auger, Carbine, and LAARK, as well as new weapons based on hybrid Alien/Human technology - including the BM001 Razor and the Longbow 1S-1K "One Shot, One Kill" sniper rifle

Enemies: Over 10 different types of enemies, including Chimera from "Resistance 2" and "Resistance: Fall of Man" - including the Titan, Slipskull, Hybrids and Leapers - and all new enemies like the Hag and Cloven

Multiplayer: Intense eight-player multiplayer gameplay with five game modes including Team Deathmatch, Capture the Flag, Containment and Assimilation available via ad-hoc and infrastructure

Resistance Franchise: Web based franchise that ties into the Resistance franchise web portal

Enjoyed playing this game very much, i dont normally get into psp games as much as i do with ps3 games but i really enjoyed this one. It has a good story to it with movie scenes to back it up. It's a long game without the boredom of doing the same thing.

                   Very impressive indeed.

Having played and loved Resistance on the PS3, I was sceptical about a PSP version.

I'm happy to be proven wrong though. The graphics are very impressive and the controls are very well thought out and generally work pretty well.

The story and voice acting is great plus you can even play online which means you're getting a serious amount of playtime out of this game.

                  At today's price of 12.99 it's an absolute must-buy.

                   O.K

Although the graphics are very good, it does get quite repetitive in the campaign. The best part of the game has to be the on-line play. There are only a few weapons, 5 game modes and 5 maps. The controls are easy to handle once you get used to them

                   Good game with annoying controls

I only just bought this game as I have been on the fence about it ever since it was released thanks to the mixed reviews. But I only decided to buy it as my PS3 is broken and so far I think it's pretty good. It has quite a few things in common with Resistance 2, it has quite good graphics, very fun to use weapons, good online, it doesn't last forever but it is quite long, the voice acting is not bad and of course it has some huge boss battles and well that's all the good points.

The bad is that the controls are very fiddly, especially zooming in which can be frustrating sometimes, sometimes the voice acting can be bad and it can fell boring after a while as really your just running around shooting aliens over n over.

ok dont get me wrong this game is very good, and very long for a psp game. their are multiple of problems with this game. the controls are frustrating esspecially when trying to run away from big bosses. There a no save points, and it does not auto save apart from when you get half way into level. Then if you want to stop playing and turn the game off, then you have to start all over again from the begining of the level. my advice is buy this game when its say £5.
