I love this game. It is easy but when you split the plunder you then elevate your level and each time the same happens until you are the top level and your share becomes larger. It is easy to play and once you master you will find it very rewarding. I have spent literally hours on this game. I am 37 and have played this game on the Amiga, Xbox & now the PSP. Each time it has been revamped and each time it gets more engrossing. The music is quite piratey and this is one of those games that you will play for hours, discover it is bedtime, your wife has left you and the dog is packing up to go to the kennels. In short once you buy into it you will love it... I do and if I only owned 1 PSP game this would be it.
I got this for Christmas and have played about 14 hours so far, it is challenging and hasn't got repetitive yet, there is so much to do in this game.
The game is ideally suited to the PSP, the controls are superb, very simple and I like that you can save the game almost anywhere. Making it easy to pick up and play whenever you feel like and not having to worry about finding a safehouse before you get off the bus.
The graphics are decent, nothing amazing but they do the job well. It would be nice if there were cut scenes and not just dialog along the bottom of the screen but that is my only grievance, well apart from wind effects whilst sailing but you get used to that.
The game has so many different gameplay styles meaning there is something about Pirates you will enjoy. You get to take part in dancing mini-games, search for treasure whilst avoiding traps and predators, collect maps to reveal your next objectives, sneak out of prisons, lay siege to towns and most importantly, you get to attack shipping in the Caribbean, depending on what you need you can attack merchant ships/pirate ships/frigates/transport ships/canoes.
All in all a very enjoyable game, definitely worth a purchase.
Good conversion from the old commodore amiga version, and better tweeks in places, and whilst theres plenty to do, you do, after a while, find it all a bit samey.
Ive played this pirates game along time ago on the C64 where i played it to death as i always longed for a pirate game, then i owned it on the xbox and loved it on there and now i own it on the psp and yet again i love it
yes its repetive but i love the fighting and swordfighting
music is great the graphics are crisp and clear and you can do what ever you want to do in the game....
great game that ive loved for 20 years!!!!
An excellent game and flawlessly transformed into a PSP format. With quests and other things constantly changing every time you start a new game you will spend hours on the game before you play the same game again. But yet after all these changing values, the games concept is repetitive, and well, however addictive it is it is in the end it will get ... boring.
