True to the series, with a few daring twists

The gameplay principle remains the same, straying as far away from a flight sims as possible but maintaining the edge the Ace Combat series has always given gamers. Far more cinematic that it's predecessor, 'Skies of Deception', newcomers would find this game more than rewarding. Aircraft customisation has improved somewhat and planes never before seen in Ace Combat are introduced here. Clearly a lot of effort has been placed into the soundtrack and real world setting, but many aspects of traditional Ace Combat remain. Although it feels like a somewhat precursor to the upcoming 'Assault Horizon', it has much to offer fans and newcomers alike.
