Ridge Racer (PlayStation Vita)

If you buy this expected it to be a fully fleshed out game you will be dissapointed.

Ridge racer is cheap because it shops with limited cars, 3 tracks and no single player career mode.

This is a game driven by Add on packs to buy on the PS Store - extra tracks, music etc.

As a game its brilliant fun - fluid visuals, great presentation and a good team based online edge to the career. Single player mode is all about time trials and practice races.

IF YOU DO NOT HAVE INTERNET AT HOME YOU WILL NOT BE GETTING THE FULL EXPERIENCE. Drop the rating to 3 stars

Overall a great little racer that greatly improves with the DLC

Well i looked forward to this one as Ridge Racer has a history with the PS brand and has become a bit of a system launcher, i got the first one with my PS1, now this.
All i can say is it does not deserve the beating it has been getting from reviews.
The graphics are great, absolutely spot on for the R/Racer universe, packed with charm and detail, for my money it looks as nice as the full blown PS3 version, on a smaller screen the 5" OLED screen makes it all super sharp and an absolute joy to watch in motion.

The sound is also spot on with some good trance/techno music tracks and cool fx.
Controls are actually better than i first thought they would be, just remember and suspend belief, this is not a sim, it is pure racing fun......all about drifting sideways round a corner at ridiculous speeds!!!!.
Everything from its big brother is here, well impressed especially so early on in its development cycle.
