Before you play this game you really want to familiarise yourself with the PSP's button layout as the game is as much a test of reflexes and button layout awareness as it is intelligence - The game relies on the quick input of correct button pushes to answer the multiple choice questions and the faster you answer the higher you score.
For many this won't pose any problem at all and personally I prefer this method to the stylus and voice method of the DS - reason being that this way works 100% of the time!
Mind Quiz has all the usual tests of logic, memory, calculation etc. That you've become accustomed to (or not) and the game keeps you playing by dangling various unlockable extras in front of you. These are pretty much the same games you've been playing in the tests but once unlocked you can play them to your heart's content and practice in your weaker areas or to just show off your smarts.
Mind Quiz is a better than most quiz game and if you think you're capable of memorising the PSP's button configuration (which isn't asking much) then you're certain to have yourself some nerdy fun.
You won't find any fancy graphics here, just a great mind challenge. This game has numerous types of puzzles on 3-4 difficulty settings to test your judegment, memory, maths, puzzle solving etc. There are several modes to the game. A daily brain age test where you can see how you're improving (or getting worse), a world map challenge where each country is associated with a puzzle, or several single challenge modes for individual or group topic challenges.
I've shown a few people this game and now they want a copy of their own, and for £10 its a bargain.
From reading the oneline description of the game i am
thinking of buying it and having a go, it will be very
interesting to know how my brain is working these days
and also it will pass the time when i am making the meals
in the evening. It is a game you can pick up and pause
and put down, a short game which makes a change and
a break from the long Strategy and RPG that i've played
in the past.
a decent clone of brain training on ds though not quite as good on psp due to no touchscreen. The actual training is surprisingly fun and very addictive, but the menu screen and interface leave a lot to be desired and there arent really many game modes. a good game, not gonna win any awards but for a tenner it's good value
Not as good on PSP... your better off buying the one of DS
