for the price its a very good console, however the more expensive psp 3000 slim & lite does have a much better screen than this e-1000 model and also note that you can NOT play online games or download games onto the e1000 itself, if you want to download games from the playstation store to play on the e1000 you have to do so with a pc and its a bit of a pain. if you don't mind a less colourfull and vivid screen and you dont want to download games then the psp e-1000 is a great alternative to its more expensive but superior big brother the 3000 slim & lite. if you can afford it then you should go for the 3000 which is in my oppinion much better if only for the amazing lcd sreen with much more vivid colour. for the price though this psp is amazing value and it is very durable and well made compared to the psp3000 which does feel a little bit flimsy and fragile. note: this model psp (e-1000) is also called a psp street. hope i helped you decide which is best, and by the way, i own both handheld consoles so ive actually played them both extensively before writing this reveiw. thanks for reading. peace :-)
Had a PSP 1003 before. Was expecting lower quality on this one because of the cheaper price. But it is superior in almost every way. It feels sturdier whilst being lighter and less chunky, has a matt black finish (so no more finger prints / scratches) and the screen is vibrant and crisp. Games load faster thanks to a nifty "UMD cache" feature and the disc drive is much quieter.
Only potential down side is lack of wi-fi and stereo speakers....but I hardly ever play games online and you can still download media from a PC and transfer across. Also, the speakers on the older PSP were so weedy and close together that the loss of a stereo soundscape is hardly noticeable. You still get stereo sound with headphones on the E1000.
Overall, if you're just after a fun, quality handheld that delivers gaming, movies and music on the go...then there's no need to pay more!
why would sony bring out a psp with no wifi i dont get it this one shuld of been the first not after the 3000 i have the e1000 but i also had 3000 before but when e1000 come out this november i fort it would of been better but i still dont under stand why sony would bring this out it would of been better if you could install wifi software on it if you wanted it
I bought the original E-1000 PSP console . The original was far superior than this tacky version. The plastic strip on the front which holds START and other features looks inferior and cheap. I then find that there's no WI-FI,this confused my because the original does. The only upside is the hold button is on the lower of the console, not on the side. My advice is pay the extra for the PSP E-3000 . This one is going straight back.
