5 The last (and only?) great PSP game.Berbatov2010 | 22/01/2012 | See all Berbatov2010's reviews (1)This is an absolutely superb port of one of Japans most established RPG series, the Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky.The first of an impressive trilogy, the game has a superb cast and story, with a very funny and interesting script, colourful characters with a wide range of personalities and yet unlike games like Final Fantasy manages to avoid drowning you with a needlessly complex battle system, instead providing a system that has depth, yet is not overwhelmingly complicated. If you have played the superb Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions, then you'll have a fairly good grasp of the battle system used here. One thing that is unique to the game is the difficulty level, which actually adjusts to how well you are doing - losing badly, and often? The game will ease up on the difficulty. Cruising through? The next boss may just be a bit harder than you expect it to be.The PSP has been left high and dry when it's come to good games, but Trails in the Sky, whilst not exactly doing a huge amount to buck any trends in RPG tradition, is a well-paced and enjoyable game that for sheer polish and quality rivals anything the consoles big brother, the PS3, has to offer in terms of RPG fun.
