i bought this game becuase i heard it had advantages over the new version (Virtua Tennis 3). The downfall of this game is however the games engine. it extrememly sluggish to do pretty much everything. all task take loading. even flicking through options takes loading time of a second to do. it isnt close to a smooth experience. one in the games however, what u havea is a clean and very enjoyable experience. i found myself getting engrossed in the game and every point began to matter, especially in the finals where it is very hard to win.
The career mode is fun, however, some of the training techniques are nonsense and leave you with little chance of winnnig to improve.
The game also has about 10 players for each sex. SERIOUSLY. this means that no matter what stage your in. your playing one of these 10. this means if your playing the 300th in the world, it could very well be federer. they've made no evidence to make fake names and players. this sort of takes a knock on the reality of the game and after a while you get bored of seeing the same names. (if you play a lot that is). i travel a lot so i use it on the train.
To summarise, its good but not perfect. the sluggish menu and loading time doesnt make it unplayable but can become annoying. definitely worth £10 though.
