In Monster Hunter Freedom, challengers take on a variety of quests and conquer larger than life beasts either alone or with the aid of others. Players start by customizing their own character, choosing the type of hair, face, voice and other various attributes their personalized monster hunter will possess. They can explore ahub village where they can sign up for various challenges ranging from retrieving a valuable egg from the nest of a menacing dragon to hunting down powerful creatures and much more. Hunters can scavenge defeated monsters for food, collect bones for weapons and armor, and even use pieces for decorative accessories. In addition, by completing objectives, players receive an array of rewards that allows them to upgrade their arsenal and equipment, readying them for even tougher battles.
  • Breathtaking graphics - lush environments and detailed monsters are beautifully represented on the PSP system
  • Modified quests enhance offline gameplay - whereas the previoustitles emphasized online gameplay, missions have been adjusted to offer more accessible single player experiences
  • Up to four can team up in cooperative multiplayer missions via the PSP system's ad hoc mode
  • Players can also exchange certain items as well as guild cards which track points that are awarded when friends play together
  • Enhanced village hub features a new look and includes various upgraded areas
  • New Felyne Kitchen - hire these feisty creatures to create various culinary delights in their extraordinary kitchen
  • New "treasure hunters" two player co-op game
  • Exciting mini games - collect items, harvest plants and complete other small tasks to obtain all kinds of useful items
  • Brand new weapons and equipment provide even more options

I've only had this game for about a day and already I love it.
The graphics are so rich and beautiful to look at you wonder just what else the PSP is capable of. The Monsters are greatly detailed to.
When you are not on your quest you can explore the village, whereby you can upgrade weapons, buy and sell goods, even tend to a farm (Great for supplies etc).
Overall though this is truly a wonderful game with which I'm over the moon with.

 Me love you long time.

One of the best games Ive bought for PSP. Even now, 1 year in, I still enjoy an hourly crack at MHF. The graphics are stunning, the controls easy to learn and the multiplayer quests are something worth experiencing.

There's lots of stuff to the game that you just need to find out, probably one of the most notable things about this game is that, other than in the tutorial, things arent spoon-fed to players. Players have to learn how to combine items, learn how to capture and kill large monsters all on their own. Special items remain a mystery to all who play the game unless they check out websites for info on them.

I approve of this game.

Slow to start but very rewarding.

As other people have said before me, the game is slow to start with. After the first hour or so of gameplay however the game changes and introduces the wyverns. Your first glimpse of Rathalos will leave you wanting more and it doesn't disappoint. When you kill monsters you can carve them up and receive various items that can be used in the crafting system which is well implemented with the usual 'you require this weapon to kill this monster to obtain this item to be able to craft this other weapon to kill this other wyvern' but it doesn't seem to be as boring as it is in other games, the incentive to be able to kill the wyverns rather than just cower in front of them is good enough for me to continue. Then theres the multiplayer. I've only played a little bit of this with a friend of mine (mainly during lectures where I really should have been paying attention) and I have been left with the impression that the game is better when played with other people(and the single player game is fantastic). This is quite possibly the best game for the PSP that I can't see being beat, at least until Monster Hunter Freedom 2 comes out.

All in all if you are contemplating buying this game just do it and stick with it past the first few beginner quests and you will be rewarded by a fantastic game at a really good price.

 This Games Kicks Monster Ass!

Despite people say that the game is slow to start with, which it is, when you get deep into the quests and play along with friends, it is one of the best games, if not THE best game on the PSP.
Seriously good investment of £17.00 if your looking for a game to play for months and months.
Only critisism, it's a bit repetative, and addictive...
