Sony PSP 3000 Slim & Lite Console Base Unit - Red

This is my 7th PSP since they were first released, not because they break but because i like to have the latest version. The New PSP Slim & Lite is the best one yet. It has a better, brighter screen and the quality of the sound is improved also. The colour is beautiful but I would describe it more as a deep pink than a red.

Over the last few years there have been a lot of amazing games on Sony's little console. Final Fantasy VII Crisis Core, Metal Gear Solid portable Ops, God of war Chains of Olympus and Silent Hill Origins to name but a few. The console is also home to a lot of overlooked amazing titles. the re-releases of the original 2 final fantasy games are stunning and the YU-GI-OH games are better than on any other console.

The PSP is also compatable with the PS3 console with interconnectivity between two unlocking hidden content on certain games like the excellent Resistance series.

In conclusion, The PSP has always been an amazing console and is getting even better as time goes on. The Nintendo DS/i despite its great popularity lacks the great catalogue of games that Sony has to offer on their powerful little handheld.

Get this instead of a PSP GO! It is cheaper and the huge advantage is that you can play UMD PSP games. This means that you can pick up preowned bargains and sell or trade old games in for new ones. I would also like to add that the PSP GO does nothing that the PSP 3000 cannot. Buy this instead if you have any common sense!

Decided on the red one, as hubby already has the white one and we didn't want the same. Nearly had the blue one. The red is just totally gorgeous and it isn't pink, but a lovely deep red.

It's a shame Sony don't include a Memory stick in the box, so I've ordered a 4GB one today. The power cable could have been longer too, so you can play and charge at the same time.

On the whole a fantastic item. I would recommend getting a case for travelling though.

The psp now has some great games, and a nice screen to play them on. This psp has far more vibrant colours than the 1000 and 2000. You can copy music,images and videos to the psp, and browse the internet.

Make sure you buy a memory card at the same time so you can save your games. A case is recommended (logitech playgear slim).

The only problem I have with this, is the ridiculous amounts of fingerprints the screen attracts. If you literally slightly touch the screen there is a mark on it, and its quite hard to clean without an lcd cleaning kit. The screen also suffers from glare when outside, although sony say this screen is anti glare, it isnt, if you play in sunlight outside, you cant see what you are doing.

Still worth buying for games on the go, and all its other features!
