  Ahead of it's Time

With terrorists openly killing thousands as well as drugs, disease and pollution being widespread the world's economies are on the verge of total collapse. A shadowy organisation, bent on world domination, begins to emerge and no one but you believes they exist.

A port from the PC original Deus Ex is usually labelled as a first person shooter but it is so much more than that. One of the biggest factors that separates it from other FPS games is the ability to improve and customise your character as the game progresses. The way in which you upgrade your character has a huge impact on the way the game plays; maxing out your hacking skills for example meaning you can override gun turrets to attack enemies. Very few games, even now in 2011, allow the player such freedom to play exactly how they wish.

The game is certainly not without its flaws. Even when released eight years ago the controls and graphics were a mixed bag and the game featured the odd bug or two (although none were game breaking). It is however easy to overlook these minor problems in such a unique gaming experience.

The Best Buy you could ever buy

I would say this is the best game in the world, For me this outranks GTA 4. The graphics are realli good, will make you feel like ur in the game literally. The game play is mixed, one minute ur in normal New york having a beer & the next ur in area 51 meeting with a scientist bt really gd to choose wether u wanna b on the gdside or bad. I played the ps2 version. Not too sure if the PC game gt the same sorta vibe and stuff. Worth buying!!

One of the best games ever made.

This is one of the most memorable and immersive gaming experiences you will ever play through. While the graphics are dated by todays standards, the way you interact and influence the storyline by your actions is an experience that has yet to be beaten. It never got the mainstream success it deserved. But this is basically one of the best games ever made, give it a deserving playthrough and you will feel the same.

Possibly the greatest game on the PS2

Deus Ex was released in 2002 and even though the graphics look a little bit out of place today that doesnt stop this from being one of the greatest fps games of all tiime. This is my second favourite game of all time, second only to the mighty Final Fantasy 7. Both might not look pretty today but who cares about graphics right? The gameplay in Deus Ex is sublime, I wouldn't really call this a shoot em up game as you spend a large amount of time interacting with people and finding out information. Much like an RPG, but this game is very different in the sense that you have many paths to choose from and you dont have to follow any one mission.

This game will definately keep you going for a week or two depending on what kind of gamer you are. One of the best things about this game is that you can change the way you play the game, you can either use stealth to get by guards or traps, this method is slower but safer or you could go in with all guns blazing and finish the game pretty quickly. Either way this game is so addictive you probably wont stop playing it until your eyes fall out.

If you appreciate good qualilty games like Halo and Final Fantasy 7 then you should definately pick up a copy of Deus Ex. And at such a low price from Play its more than worth it.... Oh and dont bother with the sequel, it sucks.
